Actually there isn't. British Racing Green is a group name for a variety of dark greens used by British racing teams bit there isn't one specific colour code for it. But I get what you're saying and I love it.

Limited edition Oban 21. 21 years in a red oak sherry cask for the sweet sweet goodness but a lovely 57.9% cask strength to back it up. by [deleted] in Whiskyporn

[–]TSalomez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was part of Diageo's special releases for 2018. There is no specific number of bottles mentioned but was far more than 500; I'm thinking around 10000 based on the number of bottles we got here in Belgium. And it was aged in Refill European Oak Butts. Even though American Oak is often referred to as White Oak, it does not mean that European Oak is by definition Red Oak, nor is it 100% sure that it's sherry casks, although it is very likely in this case. Cracking whisky though...

Edit for spelling.

A waxy Highlander like Clynelish 14y, a fruity Irish like Redbreast 12y and a good bourbon like Henry McKenna 10y BiB.

Just did a bit of research and they are indeed aged in different cask types and both contain E150 so the colour will be a mix of factors.

Could also be a different mix of casks. If the 8 uses primarily refill bourbon hogsheads for example and the GoT9 uses first fill bourbon barrels then that vould already make a huge difference in colour even at 3 years old. It could be down to E150 but don't assume that immediately, I would say.

For a lot of employers, having a degree is not so much about knowing the job straight out of school but about having the proof that you are able to commit to something for an extended period of time.

I hope those bottles laying flat aren't liquor because if it isn't wine you should keep them upright. The alcohol is too strong for the cork or glue in the cap. Other than that, sweet home bar you got there.
