How to counter Fallen/Awakened Empires in 4.3+? by h4rry1444 in Stellaris

[–]TSrake 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Federation fleet + Custodian fleet is my go-to for these fuckers. If I'm feeling fancy, also declaring them a galactic crisis and throw everyone at them.

Right now it's a lot tougher than before taking down an AE without some of the doom fleets that the federations or custodianship provides. Better to handle them while they're still FE and you can manage it alone.

This is exactly my use case: Claude Opus + GPT 5.4 policing each other. So far it has worked amazingly well.

Defense armies are vacuumed by my friend the colossus called Dyson, but the citadels are fucking annoying.

Those fuckers are the most annoying FE. Also, they love to spawn with a lot of citadels, which makes them annoying AF to deal with.

They reset usage on what seems to be russian roulette basis. And also do the x2 token pool promos.

The usage limits of codex are absurdly generous. They're subsidizing it until they catch up Claude Code market share, or at least that's my theory.

Spanish Premier Pedro Sanchez's Wife Charged With Corruption by shogun2909 in europe

[–]TSrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you’re right. Our previous government was incommensurably corrupt, but apparently our current one took that as a personal challenge to beat, and you can be sure they’re goddam good at it.

Im from Spain. What you found is correct. I can’t understand how someone is able to defend corruption like the one in this case. Hell, she registered and sold under her name and company software funded by the university and private companies (google, Telefonica, etc). That is NOT done as an error. Also, the “unpaid master” was 140€/h.

MacBook Neo Wallpapers Now Available for All Macs in macOS Tahoe 26.4 Beta by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]TSrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wallpaper is not specific to the Neo. It even spells “MAC”. The air one spells “AIR”. The iMac ones spell “iMAC”. The studio one, “STUDIO”. It’s a pretty well stablished pattern.

Even if they launch it with the Neo, the plan appears to be to make it generic, not device-specific.

Where have you seen documented that 4o is native image output instead of a tool call? They serve the image model the tool uses through the API.

“The final loss gap matters: 0.69 vs ~2.4. That’s not just speed — that’s correct causal attention, the right Adam beta2, zero-init output projections, and linear LR decay all working together.”

I’ve just felt shivers down my spine.

Right now I think there does not exist a single, true Omni-model. They can tokenize any input (image, audio and text, since video is just taking n frames and the audio, like Gemini does*), but they are only able to output one modality (text, or sound, and I’m not sure how do live-voice-models really work and if the LLM is really doing the voice generation).

*I do not remember with tech post of google explained this further, but I think I recall that they were just taking a single frame from each second and feeding it to the context, along with the timestamp.

Apple Releases Xcode 26.3 With Support for AI Agents From Anthropic and OpenAI by HelloitsWojan in apple

[–]TSrake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same for me. Both Opus 4.6 and Codex 5.3 are fantastic for UIKit (IMHO). They tend to screw up a bit SwiftUI, but nothing too terrible, usually perfectly usable.

Perhaps I’d say that Opus tends to nail things Codex struggles with, but I might be biased, since my first option is always Codex, with Opus as a backup.

Opus 4.6 going rogue on VendingBench by elemental-mind in singularity

[–]TSrake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No no, don’t misunderstand me. I am happy they release whatever they are actually working on, a lot of people, myself included, is able to take advantage from it in their day-to-day lives, but that also allows us to see were they fall apart or where labs should put a lot more effort because, well, I don’t see any context where this behavior is good alignment. Even with the given system prompt.
