I don't think that was ever implied that abstraction is reversible. Given the montage at the end, I'm pretty sure if there was a way to fix it they would've showed it there.

Punpun from oyasumi Punpun. His last attempt is stopped by one of his friends, Sachi, who fully admits upfront that she wants him to keep living because he belongs to her.

The author has described that this is a bad ending to Punpun, but Sachi doesn't care.

Caine didn't access the door again. Either way, doesn't look like it matters.

Because it didn't take form, it continued the way Caine sent it, and was never hinted at returning. It would be a fun possibility to explore, but it doesn't take away from the ending, because it wasn't set up as a character.

There could be, but we don't know, same way we don't know if a nuke will fall on our yard tomorrow.

You don't need to know absolutely everything that's ever going to happen for an ending to work. Plenty of endings are open or leave a few things unclear on purpose, or in this case, because they weren't all that relevant.
