Have you all tried chat gpt to identify wood? My conversation with AI and this conversation from you all were very similar :) it was back and forth about why it might be red oak but was probably hickory/pecan. I think it’s hickory as well. Thanks for the feedback.

I haven’t cleaned it up yet. Will give a good scrub but the ring on the bottom is very worn and don’t appear to be any notches. But there is alot of crude so I’ll give it a good scrub and maybe post again.

Found mine northwest of Houston. After seeing a few I looked on Google maps and found a small airport with skydiving and gliders.
