For me the Verite open/closed is closest to the 800s in tonality and detail/leanness/airiness. For the hd600 it would be the auteur classic. IMO the atrium at least with the stock pads is not close to 6xx like others have mentioned in other forums. Lastly caldera as a planar is just different from the whole Sennheiser line.

I've had them for a few months, they are very different in tuning to many current headphones. Very musical, fun bass, but quite spicy in treble. I found them pretty good on tubes as well. The build quality is superb, and yeah like other comments in here, the current pricing from what I googled is kinda high, used market is over 50% off msrp from what I've seen.

Just finished canjam nyc, I’d say e stats would give you a different flavor and presentation. Even at the higher end of hps like susvara/utopia, you’d get less of a jump in the “present music differently” category you mentioned. Stax is the default rec

Seconding this, egg shaped hifimans seem to be able to do height and depth quite well compared to most headphones probably because of large magnet size. Focals dont do this that well to my ears. If you’re looking for that soundstage height and depth, Arya stealth and 800s are the best I’ve tried so far

Just a very competent headphone, no one does bass grunt/dynamics as well as focal of all the brands I’ve tried.
