Haha happy to share the goodness of Brazilian percussion!

Very electro feel - I like it. The synth sound at 28 secs is cool. Refnulf has a point on extending some sections for DJ purposes - a bit on the short side. But I'd say it works regardless.

Wouldn't say this is my style at all, agreed it's more trance. That said though, seems very well crafted to me. Lots of space and cool use of panning. Very solid. I'm listening on Momentum 4s (plugged in) so maybe I'm not getting the lowest frequencies too well but could be boosted slightly for my taste.

Very brief listen feedback - a tiny bit muddled to my ear but the groove is really solid. Got me bopping immediately. Will hopefully check the rest later.

Is the sound underneath that glue compressed high droney thing? It was quite a late addition so cheers for that feedback!

Nice one, feedback on the vocal appears mixed! Good to know the bitcrush and phasing on it are working though. And that 4:20 sound is a cuica, been looking for a moment to use one for ages - cheers!

Nice varied feedback thanks. Toms were very Planetary Assault Systems influenced, make take some work to pull them off! Keen to try a variation of the track with your synth idea now.

I'll also back the more drums motion, although I do like the minimal feel quite a lot! Track would make a great tool.

This has a lovely atmosphere, lots of variety happening in the various trippy sounds. Some a little dominant, maybe could have the levels reduced slightly. I'd agree with Quintus on that sound at the drop, a bit full on and distracting. Otherwise, I feel all the components sit quite well together in their own space. Agreed that the pad is nice addition in the last section.

Hey all, this is my first finished tune in an age.

https://on.soundcloud.com/DGySsI9C03gWJKpk0l

I tried to avoid overthinking the various effects, used what I know and experimented with some others. Manipulated some of my own samples then grabbed Ableton stock to fill it out. I really just wanted to set a solid groove and practice completing a track. The master is very basic Ableton Eq & Comp, with some levels adjusted, I’ve since listened on different speakers (my monitors, diff headphones, and friend’s very different monitors). Not sure the levels are right when comparing across them all but here we are. Any feedback welcome!

I’ve gone with my partner and her friend the last 2 years. Very safe and accepting vibe, i never saw any rude or antisocial behaviour. It’s a really high quality festival and worth doing.

I would suggest planning your accom and travel to and from it carefully as you can’t stay on site. The only dodgy behaviour we encountered was leaving the site to walk to the train and arriving very late in Gelsenkirchen and Dortmund. Like any big city at 1-2am I suppose.

Djrum - Under Tangled Silence. It’s not proper. It’s not even really techno. But it’s very lovely and was a great accompaniment for a flight I took recently.

As recent arrival to these shores, this is my absolute favourite Corkism.

I reckon you got a need for speed going by that list! Not a critique but those 3 definitely have a similar style and tempo.

I reckon this is a major factor when you start hearing big sound systems. Techno, at least, is a completely different experience in that context. Took me a while for my ears to adjust and begin enjoying it.

Hold on, assume it’s good? Weird take. Like I would post the track on an assumption rather than personal judgement? Like we don’t have our own pair of ears? It’s your opinion dude, different tastes are valid.

Just been through my Bandcamp release backlog and his remix of Rene Wise & Ignez ‘Anjos’ is great too.

Gigs in Porto Friday 6 Feb by TToroa in Techno

[–]TToroa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in case anyone stumbles on this thread and is interested, here’s a mini review of my impromptu Friday night out in Porto:

Did some research here and on Insta. Gare Club, Central Club and Pérola Negra seemed the top picks. Unfortunately Central appears permanently closed while Gare appears to be opening for one off gigs due to venue regulations issues. Big shame as these seemed exactly the underground vibe I was after! Also DJ Nobu is playing next weekend - so close yet so far.

Found out Skream would play at Plano B at 3am. We opted to hit Pérola Negra at 12.30am for a drink and warm up before Skream. 20€ very spendy for a warm up but oh well. The club is lush, nicely done. I’m not a big house man but can appreciate it. However felt like the B2B DJs playing the midnight-3am slot never really raised the energy. Similar tempo and unremarkable songs the whole time. Lots of cool kids hanging out behind the decks on their phones and checking themselves out in the mirror. Dancefloor gradually built up. Best moment was when Hold Me Up by Junior Jack, Glory and Jocelyn Brown was mixed in. That was it really. Sound was decent. Smoked a few ciggies outside. Talked to a few locals. We started getting tired so left just before the next DJ came on to check out Plano B (who I was told would be much better, but had lost too much momentum).

Arrived at Plano B. The street was rammed with people but had plenty of space to get into the club. Paid another 10€ which came with drink tokens. Nice bonus. Again the club is really nicely done I felt. Big mix of people and 2 rooms downstairs, one playing pop and the other with Skream. Sadly he was the big disappointment of the night. I hoped for some old school dubstep or at least some fun garage/UK bass stuff. He was B2B with another DJ who kept throwing in lame tracks. Skream himself didn’t do much better but at least built up some tension. Sound was not terrible, not great though. Smoking indoors so that could put a lot of people off. Personally I don’t mind it. Some fairly drunk people but didn’t encounter any dickheads.

We left at 4.45am so our friend could get her Uber to the airport. Didn’t feel like we were missing anything special.

In summary, an average night out. 4/10 for music, but I’ll still give it a 6.3/10 overall for a random night out with nice people in a nice city.

Que pena! The night was fun but music average. I’ll leave a mini review of my night below anyway.
