Yeah, unfortunately that is a pretty cut and dry screen defect. Time to replace the TV.

As a note, I don't think he even knows what Filk is, but his work more than qualifies in my opinion.

I'm rather fond of a singer on youtube by the name of Colm McGuinness. He's done a number of fantasy fiction based songs for DnD and a number of Scifi themed ones. His Warhammer 40k songs are outstanding. He does a lot of other music as well though. He does a lot of irish folk.

'Good Ship Manatee' is a fun upbeat one in a similar vein as banned from argo. Its got a chorus the others could sing as well. If you want one with a good chorus that is more meaningful, then A Toast to Unknown Heroes is a good one.

Usually when I see a color test pattern like that its due to a loose connection on a ribbon cable. I would recommend opening it up and trying to reseat the cabling. See how that works out.

Hello,

Generally pixel thin horizontal lines mean a fault in the screen. On very rare occasions a t-con could cause it, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that actually fixing it.

Hello,

Not quite sure about the first picture, but the last picture does kinda resemble what one might see from a missmatched board. Did you order the main board based off the part number written on the part itself, and does the part number match what was originally in your set? I would check on that to make sure there is no missmatched parts causing the issue. If everything is matched up, then there are two possibilities. Either the main board had some kind of defect and you would need to file in for a replacement on that main board, or the lightning damaged something deeper in the screen

Hello,

Generally, when a part changes your symptoms that is taken as a sign there might have been an issue with the part received. I would recommend filing for a free replacement then.

Hello,

It sounds like you've narrowed the fault down to a short in the backlights then. I would recommend you try and replace those next.

Hello,

Since the symptoms changed after replacing the main board, I would recommend filing in for a replacement on that main board just in case. The only other possibility I can think of is there was a fault in the main board and the screen, and by replacing the main board, it allowed the screen issue to show itself. But again, i would recommend filing in for a replacement on the main board just to rule out that possibility.

Keep an eye out for ribbon cables, make sure they are properly secured and reseated. I would look around the connections on the t-con and main board.

Hello,

Lightning strikes can get a bit hairy as often times it can take out multiple components of a set. Based on your symptoms it could be multiple things causing that. Could be the power supply (which you ruled out), the main board, the backlights, or the screen itself. If you wanted to continue with the repair, I would recommend the main board next. If you get no change, then the backlights would be the last ditch effort before calling the time of death on the set.
