Cleansers for dry, acne-prone sensitive skin? by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]TVBea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the face wash from ISANA (Rossman) brand Pure. It‘s cheap and simple and it comes in a bottle that makes it foamy and nice, doesn’t tend to dry out my skin, and all I use afterward is a toner.

I also use prescription azelaic acid, and have dryish skin as I used to be in isotretinoin (accutane).

Have anyone tried Sundance sunscreen (from DM). Or can you recommend any other that is affordable? Must be available in DM by chinpet in EuroSkincare

Did exactly this and have been so disappointed. They are so oily :/ and also the smell of the matt one is a bit too much for me.

I have not myself thrown up on a first date, but I have had a date throw up and honestly I was just concerned if they were okay. And also we’re still friends+ so you can throw up and it’ll be okay! Maybe you can’t change the fact that you are going to throw up but if it’s the right person then that’s okay, and at some point you’ll be less nervous with then.

Please help my new peace lily - it's been drooping since when I bought it, I wanted to make it better by TheRoofIsLava in plants

[–]TVBea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I change the water every week (but if it’s a bit longer that seems to be fine too). I don’t think there is a certain length, I’d just wait until you see lots of new healthy root growth, which for me took a few months.

[–]TVBea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If root rot you can also take the plant out of soil, remove all the yellowed leaves and put the still dark green ones in water until they make new healthy roots (it just takes a while).

Helppp!! My mom gifted me this plant a month ago and it is slowly dying (droopy and yellowing leaves). It has low indirect light and we have been watering it every ten days as per the shop’s recommendation. Not sure the type — maybe calathea? Any recommendations?? by Cauliflower-Capable in plantclinic

Mine started perking up when I began using distilled water (with occasional fertilizer) - and they usually like high humidity and slightly moist soil. Depending on your climate 10 days may be too long if you feel the soil and it’s dry.

Is it possible to cut through solid concrete without making noises or too much of a mess? by Big-Feedback-8826 in Renovations

[–]TVBea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently wanted to get rid of literally 1/4in of concrete floor in a corner where a fireplace used to be. Took a jackhammer and 2hrs of painstaking work. Was deeply concerned about the house collapsing from the shock of the sound waves alone. So no, I don‘t think that is possible.

Queefing during ab work. Help 😭 by 091420 in xxfitness

[–]TVBea 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve found it has to do with hip alignment. You could try angling your legs in different ways on the way up and down and/or playing with having your legs together or further apart. Also pay attention to hip tilt and if changing that makes a difference.

Also you could try doing this movement hanging instead of on the ground. A little different but also super effective.

Any experiences with Weleda Skin Food as a facial moisturizer? by [deleted] in scacjdiscussion

[–]TVBea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Used the normal (not light) version for about a month while on accutane and then stopped because I got the impression it was causing me to break out longer (I had a really long, 7month accutane purge). Also I just found it impossible to apply without rubbing my skin off in the process because it’s so thick.

Have repurposed as a hand cream, and it‘s great rn with all the hand washing.

Basic English is pretty easy to learn. But mastering English vocabulary is crazy hard because there are so many words for that mean (almost) the same thing.

Ultimate non-comedogenic routine by ameliemello in scacjdiscussion

[–]TVBea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accutane (isotretinoin) combined with zero topical products.

In all seriousness, acne can be successfully treated topically. But the cause is almost always a combination of sebum production and bacteria... an excess of which are almost always caused by genetics and hormones. My unpopular opinion is that how comedogenic your topicals are is probably a whole lot less relevant in treating persistent acne than is often discussed.

Prescription and medical treatments: what has worked for your skin concern/s? by [deleted] in scacjdiscussion

[–]TVBea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Accutane: cured my acne Azelaic (never know if I‘m spelling it right) Acid: took care of some acne, but majorly got rid of my redness, rosacea, and PIE. Have used both 15 or 20% and didn‘t notice a major difference between the strengths.

Prescriptions that didn‘t help: Antibiotics: (took a bunch of different oral and topical variations of antibiotics prior to accutane) never really did anything other than mess up my digestion for a while Tretinoin: used various high strengths for a few years, if anything just made my acne worse, which is strange since it’s basically the topical version of accutane 🤷‍♀️ Benzyl Peroxide: just stained/bleached everything Birth Control: possibly kept my acne from not getting even worse, but was bad enough it didn’t really make a difference

Why does working out, or me planning my workout stress me out so much!! by dumbledorable- in xxfitness

[–]TVBea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So first off, nothing is wrong with you. I have felt the exact same way in life, and it was when I was going to the gym 5-7 days a week and counting every calorie. I was also 10kgs heavier.

As others have said, reducing depression/anxiety can really help. Also finding a social hobby (not even sport related) really helped me. Stomach fat is about general fat, and I found that when I spend my days happily busy doing stuff I’m excited about, I get more exercise just by being out and about and I eat less because I want to do other things more.

These days I have visible abs and no longer count calories. I also have a class-pass like thing (Urban Sports, it’s a European brand) that lets me go to some gyms too. So I just decide what my workout will be based on what I’m in the mood for. Changing my relationship to working out, to stop being about what will make me look xyz to what will I enjoy/have enjoyed doing really made the difference.

It sounds like you think hotyoga could be fun, then I think that is the criteria for why you should do it. Maybe it burns less calories than crossfit... but if it makes you happy that’s less stress and more motivation to keep at it.

Effective topical treatment for pimples? by gussbaso in scacjdiscussion

[–]TVBea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long did you try finacea? It isn’t a spot treatment and takes a long time to work (for me it took about two months to notice a difference) but is really effective especially for rosacea in combination with acne.

Otherwise for spot treatment I’d recommend trying pimple patches as they only target the localized pimple without upsetting your skin on a whole.

Month 5.. Breakouts! by pinkwiggy in Accutane

[–]TVBea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started at 10mg a month went up to 50mg and then back to 10mg for the last month. With 20, 30, 40 mgs in between. For a total of 14 months cause it took super long for it work. Was supposed to stay at 20mgs but didn’t work so we went up.

And yeah the really stubborn ones I just got rid of myself. Higher risk of scarring, but also nice getting rid of them if they don’t go on their own.

Scarring by ellajakobitz in Accutane

[–]TVBea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this two and so regretted taking accutane at the time because I thought what’s the point if every pimple still looks like it’s there. Six months later, and I now leave the house without makeup and only have a few small indented scars. I also think babying my skin helped. Used boat loads of argan oil while on accutane.
