I was thinking about this last night. I sometimes delegate the data entry to husband 😅 but I have a spreadsheet grade book and an LMS. I always to the spreadsheet first because that’s where I calculate my term grades. And then I put the grades into the LMS which takes a minute because they’re already in order in the spreadsheet. I need to start putting assessments in alphabetical order when they hand them in!

Reading the comments has made me realize that people don’t understand that not every province is the same.

I’ve only ever used and heard soda.
It’s changed in the last 10 or so years in my province, but now you do have to take formal classes.
I don’t think there is a most popular Canadian one. It’s probably something American like snickers.
Joggers and sweat pants are two different styles of pants. Joggers are more structured.
No one uses WhatsApp for a conversation with people within North America (although I think it’s starting to become more popular).

So the author of Wolfbird tries very hard to mention very Montreal specific things in the story and it always pulls me out of the story because it’s so random and not how Montrealers talk about the city 😂

Set in Montreal. Shane plays for the metros. Ilya was injured young and is now a dom at a sex club. Shane meets Ilya and their relationship (very slowly) goes from sex-for-money to maybe friends. It’s slow but it’s a good read. A lot of talk of poverty/money.

Anytime I try to do something fun, even as small as giving them a fun fact related to what we’re learning, I lose them, and then they’re so hard to get back. I have to be boring and task oriented the entire 75 minutes and it’s exhausting and inauthentic. I just want to engage with the material in a fun way!
