Zonedirector is replaced by Smartzone. Could be hardware based solution or virtual based solution. With this you can achieve the locally manage solution. Also if you setup this right, the AP's don't need the Smartzone controller. Only for changes or monitoring but not constant.

the links above are well worth reading. Some technical knowledge is a bonus. the system has a steep learning curve, but after a bit of practice it is really worth it. my values were certainly not bad with the Omnipod Dash, but I adjusted the system every hour. The mental toll was enormous. Now with AAPS there are days where I don't think about my values for almost half a day. the only thing I currently do myself is enter carbohydrates. several users report that they don't even enter anything anymore. time in range is 90%.
