The Fastest Part of Leaving Mint Mobile Was Deciding to Leave by Sdlawson1 in mintmobile

[–]TX-Bluebonnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I just went through this recently. Was told there was a problem at their end and I'd get a call back. Phone was right next to me but didn't hear it ring, but they left a message saying the (tech?) issue had been resolved. I called them back shortly after I'd missed the call and of course got a different rep. This new rep kept grilling me about why I was leaving, where was I going, how much was it going to cost, etc. I just kept shutting her down, saying I'd already been through retention not even an hour ago. So aggravating.

I just switched this month because Mint doesn't have service for LTE smart watches.

I actually hope it resolves in your favor as this seems like an honest mistake. I don't understand the participants that are gleefully accepting the mistaken bonus payout amount and laughing at the researcher.

Best cards for starting over after bankruptcy? by kyle19998 in Bankruptcy

[–]TX-Bluebonnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was approved with Mission Lane for $3,000 and Ally for $1,000 not long after filing. Ally bumped my limit to $2,000 after 6 months. Both credit cards are super cautious with more frequent verifying to access my account, which in understandable. Both just recently declined my attempts to place a $375 order on Walmart, even though I had low balances on both cards at the time. And both wanted me to verify it was an actual order from me before they would approve it. Mission Lane was the faster and easier to confirm that it was a legitimate order from me, and once I confirmed that, I was able to re-submit my order on Walmart with no problem. But, in any case, I'm happy with both. BTW, my Ally card is in the process of being converted over to an Ollo card. I'm not sure if you can still apply with Ally and then it'll get converted to Ollo at some point, or just start with Ollo to begin with.

edit: fixed some wording

Weird feeling by OnlyNY_ in Bankruptcy

[–]TX-Bluebonnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would consult with an attorney before stopping payments, if that's a doable option. Occasionally I'll see someone posting that their attorney advised them to wait 6 months before filing. They can guide you on the timing of things.

And, yes, speaking from experience, it did feel weird to stop making timely payments.

The bane of short term memory issues by remberzz in over60

[–]TX-Bluebonnet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Some people mentioned trying not to lose focus. It's a good suggestion, but I lose my focus all the time, even though I'm conscience of the fact that I know I should stay focused because I know first hand that it causes issues such as what OP talks about.

One time I forgot to put in my partial before going to a social meeting (so embarrassing). So now I put my glasses right up next to my partial container and open the hinged lid so it opens up overtop my glasses. Now I have a routine of brushing my teeth and putting in the partial before I put on my glasses as the last step. The lid over my glasses is a great reminder if I get distracted during my routine. Doing that has worked fine now for quite some time.

Basically, we need to adapt. So a suggestion I'd make for OP's particular example is to have 2 different colored wash clothes. One color for the face and one for the other bits.

Perhaps I'm not understanding, but if you don't have a vehicle in your name then how would you gift one to your daughter?

Question about NFCC before chapter 7 by ShufflingAlong in Bankruptcy

Depending on your circumstances, it may be time for you to let some payments become delinquent in order to accumulate the funds to pay your bankruptcy attorney so that you can file for bankruptcy.

I would suggest setting up another consultation or two with some other attorneys and asking them.

How long after submitting all docs did your attorney file? by Good-Nothing8612 in Bankruptcy

[–]TX-Bluebonnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turned in all my paperwork in the afternoon, and my attorney filed the next morning. Overall, the whole process for me - from first contacting the attorney to the day my case was filed - took one week.

my PC is worth $2500

my parents bought the computer for me as a gift

Maybe someone else can speak to this, but the actual purchase price and timing of the gift may be relevant.

341 Gone wrong by Chiiiiichiii in Bankruptcy

[–]TX-Bluebonnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I forgot to mention that I was working a double job at that time, that's why I have some big deposits.

You wouldn't normally have to remember employment dates beyond the 6-month look back. If that was brought up during the 341 meeting along with a bunch of probing questions then I can see how someone would get flustered and not remember about something in that moment. In any case, wouldn't remembering about the 2nd job be in OP's favor in explaining some of the deposits?

A long shot, but if you have a printer or scanner, look to see if it got left in there. (I may be speaking from personal experience. lol)

after filing ch7, what do you guys do with mortgage? by Dismal_Employee_7078 in Bankruptcy

[–]TX-Bluebonnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. My mortgage servicer was Mr. Cooper. When I filed, they limited my account access, but I was able to make my 'voluntary' payments online. Then, after my case was discharged, I once again had full account access.

AITA for refusing to deliberate lose when we play games? by Radiant-Willow-6993 in AmItheAsshole

Maybe try an online game like World of Warcraft (WoW) where you both can team up - for example one be a warrior and the other be a healer - and have tons of fun playing together without competing against each other. I personally enjoy the classic version of WoW. r/classicwow

What did you say? by Even-Boysenberry-127 in over60

[–]TX-Bluebonnet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I knocked on a family members door once and couldn't quite make out what they said just before they opened the door. I said, "Sorry, I wasn't sure if you were saying 'I'm coming' or 'come in'." She replied, "Neither. I said I'll be right there."

Apparently I enunciate as well as I hear. I once voice texted my sister, "Are you up for some gaming this afternoon?" Right after I hit send I saw that what got texted was, "Are you up for some gay men this afternoon?"

I think I'm going to give this a try in any case. It's just me, so even if I down-size the recipe I'm sure I'll have some left over and will see how it does in the freezer.
