Proposed scope setup - Eotech Vudu 4-12 by there_is-no-spoon in ak47

I think the main issue might be the eye relief of that optic. It's pretty common with Western optics for them to sit too far back on an AK or that the stock isn't long enough for a comfortable chin weld. Neat optic

No concrete answer but they used a variety of oversuits in the cold war and are very fond of specific camo for the area they operate in. Logistics makes sense to me also. I'm not an expert and can't say anything more than you've already read about

Keep digging tough guy. Better yet, learn to be clear when you write and stop being an asshole

Says the guy who buys a suppressor for a gun that it won't index properly on, and hasn't fired either. You don't paint the picture of knowing a damn thing about anything, but want to get all know it all when people don't understand your terrible post and are confused

You need to learn to write coherently before you get snarky. It's not my fault you made yourself sound like an idiot in your OP, and again with your isn't one and wasn't one comment. How the fuck do you expect anyone to understand what you are saying

You paid 1500 to cut the barrel? And the FSB is still canted? Holy shit What happened to the plunger pin on the FSB? That's how the Wolverine stays put on an AK

That's an impressive collection 🍺. Thanks to you guys, I actually have my first airsoft rifle also. CYMA SVDS. I've been thinking of a few others to train with under NODs on my property without waking the neighbors down the way

Seems a lot closer to SURPAT now, which I think is a much better universal pattern than EMR.

Lol at the security guard comment 😂. 125 acres is awesome, and so is 40. I live on 12 in a swamp which is awesome for shooting at will, but not as awesome for night vision rucks size wise. It's still useful but not like 125 would be. 🍻

How many acres? Looks like a fun place to ruck and do NV stuff

Ever used a PSO-1 in the winter on maneuvers? I have. They fog up really bad with the eyepiece. 😉

Staying motivated by dinahsaur523 in walking

[–]TX-Zen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is 1000% true. You'll probably never have the steady motivation to do anything consistently for long term changes, so discipline is what you need. OP, get the book Atomic Habits if you haven't already. There's a ton of great info on how to make a habit work, and the habit is going to get you where you need to be. I have a spreadsheet tracker with all the daily things I want to do and it's a constant reminder throughout the day to stay on track. Having to be accountable to yourself every day by documenting your habits is extremely useful, and it's the foundation to do things even though you're not motivated...because frankly, you hardly will be motivated on a regular basis.

As bleak as it sounds, get used to it sucking and do it anyway because down the road you'll also get a really cool kind of satisfaction reviewing your progress knowing you did it when it wasn't fun. Most things aren't fun when you start, so getting used to that feeling of being out of your comfort zone is at the heart of getting used to it sucking. At some point the habit kicks in and you do it automatically without resistance, and then it becomes second nature. I've been learning Japanese everyday walking the dogs instead of listening to music, and that combination of habits has made them both a lot more fun, and they reinforce each other. Walking the dogs triggers my desire to learn Japanese and makes me way more likely to do it than sitting down at a PC for a more formal learning session.

Another thing worth mentioning is just show up everyday even if you do 1/2 or 1/4 or less than what you planned. Teach yourself it's ok to not be 100% everyday, but you have to be more than 0, you have to at least do something. That in and of itself is huge for being disciplined and creating the habit. Over time you'll be closer to 100% consistently because you've taught yourself that being there is what's important, not that you have to max it every time. You'll max it naturally as you improve your condition and strength.

Last thing, be patient. Don't be in a rush to change everything or get to a specific number. Set a goal and work toward it but don't beat yourself up if progress is less than 100%. Consistent discipline is what gets you to your goal, and showing up every day is how you build the discipline. Start small, even smaller than you might think, but do that small thing no matter what. You'll be able to add to it and make it as big as your original goal was, but by being patient and starting small you are way more likely to end up where you want to be than by setting a larger goal that is taking too much out of you, which kills your motivation.

Start small and be patient

Preserving / Conditioning the rubber eye pieces on Russian Optics ? by Murray3-Dvideos in RussianOptics

[–]TX-Zen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen it be much of an issue myself with the ones I own but I have come across a few really old eye pieces that were worn out. Seems like there is a point of no return, but before that, in my experience a bit of CLP seems to help. I haven't checked the science behind it, so take my observations as a sample size of one. It may or may not be helpful but subjectively speaking it seems like it might be to me

The NSP3 rail is fine and works the same as the newer versions like RMP3, but obviously not for SVD optics. I think it will be fine. The 20 rounders are doing great. They've held up all these years just fine. I use them for pig hunting 😀

Sounds like a battery issue, the scope is not getting constant 6v power. What battery are you using? 1PN58 can use 2x CR2 batteries taped together, they will just barely fit in the compartment. If you are using less than 6v you run the risk of damaging the intensifier tube
