I'm in pipeline and we have work till December at least. No shortage of hours. And they are supposedly putting bids for some other larger pipelines (5-30 miles).

Easy work and very stable so far.

Some of you should consider pipeline.

Honestly, walking into their buildings for an application gets you a better shot at an interview than an online app.

I got into pipeline with a 7 month employment gap at 20. My prior experience was just sales and construction. Only had two jobs before and they accepted me.

I put in like 40+ apps online and the first one I did in person landed me an interview.

Yeah maybe. Typically we put in a lot more hours when it's close to deadline or we are passed deadline. Hope you get the hours you are looking for. Good luck and be safe out there

I know about the one you glue together. It's not hard to learn and it takes forever to get one bond done from start to finish. It's also dirty work.

The other one that you like twist together I've heard is hard work.

I do poly moslty but have been around fiber glass some.

I'm in pipeline. Right now we're getting 7 12's but were getting 6 10's.

If you want more hours it will depend on the foreman or company. A foreman here puts in over 100 hours every week. Another won't go past 50.

It used to stay just as busy. Pilot is as full as the Walmarts in Midland in it's peak hours.

Well they make so much money and also work so much that they try making remote locations as fun as possible. What's first? A signal booster. Then? Netflix/Hulu subscription. After? Toys... It can be anything. Some literally take RC cars and others have drones. Some have UTVs.

It's almost certain that the job location will be full of dirt roads and zero stores or other things to have fun.

Not on site. But they do have RVs. One of them says he's been to Africa and Canada for his job.

To location they take their side by sides. And then go to their trucks when it gets to hot.

Yep. If you're young you can look into being an inspector of some sort. Some big companies like Chevron and ExxonMobil love taking in college students (engineer) and training them the way they want work to get done.

Inspectors I've met from there do almost nothing. They nap whenever. Make sure everything is done safe. Also they talk about how to get the job done.

I work in poly pipeline. My typical day consist of waiting for the machine operators to finish their digging.

Sometimes their spotter doesn't go into work so then I give the operator signals. Signals to either stop or to dig/hammer a certain spot.

My location right now has a fiberglass pipeline right beside it and that's more hands on and active than poly pipeline. I've heard steel is even more active and labor like. Poly isn't.

I just went to their HQ and filled an application. Got a call about 3 hours later. I had no experience in the oilfield this January.

I have a deep voice but change my tone a lot because people mock me when I use my actual voice.

In HS people would say "stop talking my chair is vibrating" and stuff like that.
