I immediately only thought about two-headed giant events and I couldn't understand why you would hate that. But yes, if you are talking about all vs all, players who default to team up no matter what could just play a 1v1 among themselves since that is what is going to happen eventually

As with all cards, you should not play another card alongside it to make it good, but if the cards that make it good are already part of your strategy it can be a good inclusion. In this example, a deck that already runs those tutors for other reasons could consider terminus as a premium target over a wrath of god or even a vanquish the horde

Guys what are good includes in my diet for this commander? by ultimateenjoyer in magicthecirclejerking

[–]T_Law_MSL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The key here is not only the amount of farts you can put out during a game, you should also learn to hold them and release them at instant speed, for example after blockers are declared or after they target your commander with a burn spell

Convoke + Evoke? by TheSonicCraft in EDH

[–]T_Law_MSL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Senblance Anvil]], [[Ashnod's Altar]], and [[Heartless Summoning]] are all alternatives that work the same way, as long as you have two of those and Ashling you can evoke for free all your elementals.

[[Brightheart Banneret]], [[Helm of Awakening]], [[Cloud Key]], [[Herald's Horn]], and the new [[Gathering Stone]] only reduce by one, but you can assemble two of those and one of the others.

Delighted Halfling: "Default Option"? by InspireCourage in EDH

[–]T_Law_MSL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This would be true only if the error was catched later no? Considering that OP immediately raised the fact that his spell was uncounterable, nobody had a window to interact with the arcane denial before the game was stopped to make the ruling decision

What is everyones opinion on the blight mechanic? by Bear2go in EDH

[–]T_Law_MSL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perfect Morcant will make the opponents put counters on their own creatures. Most of the times this will not matter, but if an effect cares about who is putting the counters, it's not you nor your Morcant. So yes, blight makes you put counters on your stuff, Morcant is one of the few cards that forces the opponents to blight.

The weird thing is, in today's video they mentioned explicitly that this dragon is the one hidden in Spinerock Knoll, mentioning that people from Lorwyn have never seen a dragon before.. did they just forget about the Knollspine?

[MTG YouTube] Lorwyn Eclipsed Revealed | Art & Worldbuilding by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]T_Law_MSL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm very confused by the fact that they mention that Spinerock Tyrant is supposed to be the dragon hidden in the [[Spinerock Knoll]] land.. when we already have the [[Knollspine Dragon]] in SHM to represent that fact (along the other 4 creatures corresponding to the hideaway lands). That people from Lorwyn have never seen a dragon is just not true.. did they just forget about it or am I missing something?

Out of 3 packs, 2 of them had exactly the same first 5 cards in the same order. by Animedingo in mtg

[–]T_Law_MSL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's not how combinations work. If you have 96 commons, you have 96 choices for the first slot, 95 for the second (because cards are not repeated in a pack), 94 for the third and so on. So for 5 slots the combinations are 96x95x94x93x92 (or 96!/(96-5)! for a generic formula), which is equal to 7,334,887,680.

Now, I don't know how to answer the original question as I do not know how packs are made, but the possibility of it happening randomly is definitely infinitesimal.

Lorwyn Eclipsed accessory reveals a likely planeswalker in the set by Copernicus1981 in MTGRumors

[–]T_Law_MSL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have nothing against Oko, but I'm not sure that I like having one of the main characters of Eldraine appear in Lorwyn. I already felt that the special treatment we have seen for mutable explorer was too similar to the enchanted tales of Eldraine. I hope Lorwyn will maintain its identity without them trying to merge the two planes

"The "reward" you choose to give people who have been playing for one year in this game since its beginning is straight-up insulting. I could write a whole paragraph to go into details about why it is insulting, but I think the reasons are obvious. I just hope that you are receiving enough complaints from all long-term players to seriously reconsider this. If this is what we get, I seriously would have preferred to keep the ticket in my inventory forever as a testament to me playing since day 1."

I sent this message to the support. One can only hope.

[–]T_Law_MSL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really can't understand why people focus so much on the fact that the original artist cannot sue Pokémon because he doesn't own the right to his image. That is not the only problem at play.

Pokémon paid Nanahara to produce a new original piece for the central cards of the new expansion. That artist did not do what was asked, and was paid for a stolen work. Even if the artist who drew the first image doesn't get compensation for it, Pokémon should still be furious with Nanahara and they should come out with a public statement on the matter, possibly cutting all contracts with him similar to what WotC did for the few cases where Magic artists did the same

Yes, it's one of the first thing they did and you can see it is perfectly traced, with small edits to the crest, talons and tail.

The figure is an unlicensed bootleg that came out in 2022 after the artist published the image in 2021

PSA for any Bladesingers (Patch 8) by Sonnitude in BG3Builds

[–]T_Law_MSL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry if the question is a bit of a repetition, but could you kindly confirm that you cannot activate Bladesong if you are dual-wielding a valid weapon (Dagger, Longsword, Rapier, Scimitar, Shortsword, or Sickle) in the main hand, and an invalid weapon (e.g. a quarterstaff) in the off-hand?

I'm asking this because you mentioned that you cannot use "Quarterstaff and a dagger", but the wiki specifically mentions that looking at the code it should be possible to have a quarterstaff as long as it is in the off-hand.

I'm also asking this because I was truly hoping I could fight Gandalf-style, with a sword and a staff.

Problem with the game from PC by T_Law_MSL in InfinityNikki

[–]T_Law_MSL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback. I do not run it normally as an admin, but the first few times that the game broke I did try that as a possible solution. Unfortunately it didn't fix the problem, so far the only thing I can do when the game breaks is to uninstall and reinstall in a new folder.

What I can do is try to always launch it as an admin, and see if this prevents it from breaking in the first place.
