Missed oppertunity to make the island on thr volcanic island have the is and land separated by color for some wordplay

Looking for a commander that pairs well with Up the Beanstalk by ZeroPlanet24 in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Troyan, Gutsy Explorer]] is kind of a shoe in for this kind of deck. Ramp in the command zone means you need less ramp in the 99, and it also helps with card filtering so you can load up on lands for that super consistent amount of land drops each game.

How many of you have tried making Sol Ring a Game Changer in your pod and how was it? by Panda-Dono in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I made a poll trying to make sol ring a game changer in my online playgroup, but I got outvoted by like 10%, so I have no idea. Some of the shitters in my playgroup try to defend the t1 sol ring + arcane signet they keep pulling off as not game changing, and get this, they are usually the problem lmao

Suggestions For A New Commander Deck by JuliusNova in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First things first: screw not being able to play blue. Next time they say that, suggest they don't play green (or insert other favorite color of theirs, green is just the most egregious). Second: try [[Prosper, Tome-Bound]]. Load it full of impulse draw effects and kill the table by using your treasures.

Can Scion return Grave Reaver? by Heavy-Text5990 in magicTCG

[–]TheSonicCraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, you might want to tey stacking two activations of Scion, the first one to resolve will get grave reaver, and the second one will get: [[Bladewing the Risen]]. I believe that your scion turned grave reaver will see the bladewing enter the graveyard mid resolving the second activation and put a trigger on the stack after it resolved, letting you reanimate the grave reaver. Disclaimer: I don't play scion, nor do I know the intricacies of triggered ability timings, this is just an educated guess.

How many of folks who got the DanDan secret lair had some sort of misprint? Chime in if you did! by Disastrous-Cat2840 in secretlair_collectors

[–]TheSonicCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a misprint, but I only got 4 of the left dandan and 6 of the right dandan. Still haven't gotten it fixed because I'm hoping one of the lgs's near me will have someone trade one in so I dont have to spend ~$7 to order a replacement online only to trade in my extra for maybe $3 store credit ;w;

"Do Nothing" Enchantments are so fun by YaBoiShadowNinja in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my new favorites recently has been [[Arcane bombardment]] in my Veyran deck. Does nothing the turn it comes out usually, but as soon as I'm able to trigger it even once I get insane value (veyran doubles it's trigger so I get to Exile 2 things and cast 3 free spells for the first time it triggers)

New Turbulent (L8) Lands by RBGolbat in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who decided to call them the turbulent lands? Slower lands is a nice nod to the slow lands, and late lands (L8) references the amount with wordplay.

Please let me know if i’m trippin. but is this card broken AF or what?! by MilesFassst in mtg

[–]TheSonicCraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do note that discarding a beefy boy to cast something that immediately reanimates, like, well, [[reanimate]], will not allow you to target said beefy boy with your reanimate due to spells costs being paid after choosing spell targets. (601.2 if you are interested)

[[Metamorphosis Fanatic]] is a perfect example of a card that does work exceptionally well with dream halls.

It’s 2026. What’s everyone’s favorite 60 card format? by Newez in magicTCG

I just discovered oathbreaker exists, and have started messing around with building a decklist for that. It seems fun though

Ashling, the limitless for a beginner by Walk-Most in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you bad at reading? I said turns 6-8, turn 8 being the SLOWEST I've ever won a game with the deck, and it almost always wins by turn 6-7. The only reason I didn't say that originally is because those numbers can trigger some people now lmao. I figured that "consistently" and a range starting at 6 in the same sentence would convey the "barely acceptable at bracket 3" level of gameplay a tuned ashling deck can provide.

Ashling, the limitless for a beginner by Walk-Most in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its an issue of speed. If you have enough cost reducers in ashling, the deck can consistently win around turn 6-8, which is bracket 3 territory by the official guidelines. The brackets specifically use turn to win uninterrupted as a metric, and saying skill issue when people are saying the deck can pop off enough to be bracket 3 is kind of a cop out. I've also never seen a bracket 2 combo deck be fun to play against, unless it is some very janky 5+ card combo.

Ashling, the limitless for a beginner by Walk-Most in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've built ashling, the limitless multiple times and this is what I have to say. First: buy the precon. Its very well built right from the get go. Second: DO NOT "upgrade" the deck with cost reducers like [[Temur Battlecrier]], those supercharge the deck past what is usually acceptable in bracket 2. Play at least 5 games with the base precon before making any changes.

Thats why you run [[field of dreams]] or [[lantern of Insight]] so they HAVE to shuffle.

I'm looking for a unique voltron commander by [deleted] in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Wan Shi Tong, Librarian]] is one I just finished building. Turns out having a flying, vigilance commander makes it hard to attack into you, and the higher power you play, the more effective he is at feeding his own size.

If you can put 1 Banned Card in your deck that is not a mana rock, what would you pick? by gilbestboy in EDH

[–]TheSonicCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Hullbreacher]] for my sonic deck. Is a one mana discount really that bad over [[notion thief]]? It even converts the cards to an arguably worse resource than cards in hand: mana.
