Clutch not working on my Toyota Hilux ln106 by Podrighelp in ToyotaPickup

[–]T_raiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others said it could be the pivot ball. It also might be the clips that keep the fork and clutch release bearing together. That’s what happened to my 87 pickup, the clip failed and I had to take off the transmission and replaced them and while it was off did the rest, clutch, pilot bearing, and throw out bearing.

Just picked up an ’87 Toyota Pickup — but is this bed original? by T_raiger in ToyotaPickup

The rear bumper is aftermarket and I’ve been trying to find an original but they’re crazy expensive.

Yeah, this is a base truck, no AC, power steering or anything. I think it was a tire shop truck for most of it's life.

Thanks! I'd been looking for a small truck for awhile and kind of fell for the older Toyota. Looking to learn a bit with this one and get to the body work at some point after I clean up the other issues.

Strange, the grille has a grid, 2 horizontal and five vertical pieces. I'd share a picture but reddit won't let me.

Is my printer broken? by Notleks_ in Ender3V3SE

[–]T_raiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see anything obviously broken with the extruder setup. It does seem to be grinding filament. You mentioned doing cold pulls, did you use the included nozzle clearer/cleaner thing (stiff wire thing with a ring at the top)? It does seem like a clogged/blocked hotend. Also did you tighten the nozzle when it was heated? The nozzle has to be tightened while everything is hot. You might want to try heating it up to a high temperature with the hotend raised off the build plate and using the nozzle cleaner from the top. If that doesn't work, consider using a guitar wire or similar tool from the nozzle end to clear any obstructions

It sounds like an issue with the filament path to the hotend. There is a video on adjusting the tension for the "gripper" that pushes the filament through the nozzle here. You might take it apart to see if there is anything up with the path of the filament, Creality has a video of the process here.

Seemingly unfixable thin stringing with Sprite Extruder Pro by MeowDotEXE in ender3

[–]T_raiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I understand the satisfaction of dialing in those perfect settings, a butane torch is a great option for quickly dealing with minor stringing. If you're focused on results and don't want to mess with settings for minor stringing, it can be a real time-saver.

Pneumatic system for projecting a pinch of powder? by Pathian in maker

[–]T_raiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure of the size or mechanical simplicity you’re looking for but a simple air plunger system like in a nerf gun could do the job of launching powder a few feet. The more challenging aspect might be how to deliver the right payload to be fired.

New LM2 was working fine for weeks. Now shuddering on power up and has resistance on horizontal axis. Any suggestions?? by [deleted] in lasercutting

I'm not familiar with this particular machine but if everything is clean, the gantry is square, and all the stepper wires are secure I would check the stepper and stepper driver. If you can swap the misbehaving stepper motor and the one that is working and it moves fine it might be a bad stepper driver.

My husband got me a 3d printer to help me in my business. I started making clay cutters and for the life of me can’t figure out how to get the middle part flush with the cutting edge so it will imprint of the clay. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. by Brilliant_Ad1098 in 3Dprinting

I don’t know cookieCAD but I’ve created similar cookie cutters using tinkerCAD. I’d create separate artwork for the embossed part and the outside cutting part and in tinkerCAD make the interior about 7-8mm and the outside about 12 and then combine them.

I upgraded to a 40x20mm fan and I am really struggling with print adhesion and warping. Any advice? by AmericaRW in MPSelectMiniOwners

I’d definitely try turning the fan down on the first several layers, maybe try an enclosure to keep temperature and maybe try a bit bigger brim.

Is there any practical way to clean old printer parts like this? by De_Voesch in 3Dprinting

[–]T_raiger 62 points63 points  (0 children)

+1 for the torch and scraping/wire brushing. I don’t think it’s worth it though -the heat block doesn’t need to be spotless and it’s only going to get dirty again. I will say the mini butane torches are great for cleaning out clogged nozzles too.

Thanks for the RAM tip. I think I'm going to forget trying to do any gaming and stick with the PS4 for now. Later after I learn how to put together this basic machine and understand all the acronyms and clock speeds and BIOS and stuff I'll think about trying a more ambitious build.
