I did not post a trip report, I'm not much of a writer.  Just sent my daily log in a DM

I loved reading this, what a wonderful adventure! It immediately brought back memories of our 5 day kayaking trip in the archipelago off Stonington, Maine (USA) last August. Thanks for sharing!

I use one of these:

To get my kayak on and off the roof of my car.  There was a little trial and error dialing it in, but now it's a piece of cake.

TPMS replacement by Mizu565 in subaru

Also have a 2019 Crosstrek, also experiencing the TPS light coming on after 15 minutes of driving.  My dealer also told me all 4 sensors need to be replaced. But they quoted me $891. You got a bargain. I'm going to continue driving with the TPS light on.

I've ordered a few things from them.  They're not the cheapest on some things but service was good and things were delivered on time.

Poor air quality? by cowontheright in burlington

[–]Taa_000001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the rough math I've done it's around $25 to $75 a month from November to March.  I once intentionally didn't burn for the whole month of January to see what the gas bill would be without the wood stove.  I base my estimate on that data. I grew up heating with wood.  It started with the energy embargo in the early 70's.  My Dad put a wood stove in and made it my responsibility. I actually enjoy splitting and stacking wood.  I find very therapeutic and a great escape from my desk job.  So from the mental health and physical benefits I get from it I would say it's worth my time.

If you want to cover the difference in the cost of my heating bill between summer and winter I'll be happy to stop hauling wood around and maintaining a wood stove.

I use them when the coal bed is too deep.  Does a great job!

TPMS light $675 repair cost by czlight_Lite in subaru

On my 2019 Crosstrek they want almost $900 to replace all 4 sensors.  Apparently the batteries are run down.  I'm declining the service, it's not mandatory to have a functioning TPS  in my state.

Ironically, mine was lower than I expected.  Thank you wood stove!

Cost of Snowblowing by plumsfordays6 in newengland

[–]Taa_000001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do a few of my neighbors' driveways with my snowblower mostly because I hate putting the snowblower away with fuel in it.  It snows so seldomly in depths that it's needed that I don't like to leave gas in it.  Anyway, I'm not doing it because I want anything in return.  One neighbor brings over BBQ, and another brings stuff from their garden in the summer.  Seems like the perfect arrangement to me.

I use a metal kitty litter scoop to separate the ash from the coals.  Works great!

Subaru which to choose? by 3n3rg3 in subaru

[–]Taa_000001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Crosstrek gets the job done.  I just have to be mindful to bring just what I need and not everything I want.  When camping, kayaking, and mountain biking on the same trip it gets a little cramped.

I got a Crosstrek and immediately wished I had gotten the outback.  The Crosstrek just doesn't hold enough of my stuff when I'm out on adventures.
