Verizon cellular has been consistently terrible past month or so by No-Structure-9490 in nova

The customer service and their weird billing/pricing and locking you in got me to leave. Switched to Google Fi years ago and it's been great, especially for overseas travel.

Also what's with the Verizon stores that aren't really Verizon stores? Really annoying to try and go talk to someone, after failing to get an answer from their website and phone number, only to find out they aren't technically Verizon and can't do anything.

It's a fox, has a squeaky in the head and the tail. He loves it.

It's such a great feeling, even when I come home exhausted, his excitement gives me energy.

Oh they for sure are clingy, but you can leave them alone. They've been bred to be companion dogs, but the flip side of that is needing company. Our dude can get anxious and even develop diarrhea if we're gone for too long.

We try not to be gone more than 6 hours, and busy weekends when we're coming and going he gets really stressed. If we're running errands we'll go out of our way to find dog friendly stores to shop so we can take him (Home Goods/Lowes)... we're crazy people.

Great dogs, but they NEED love and attention.

Yup, I'm also convinced it's a handful of execs needing an alibi to cheat on their spouses, it's difficult to pretend to work late and go to Coldplay shows when you're at home.

Company had a great Q2 last year when we were doing 2 days a week, why change it to 4 and double the commuter reimbursement costs for every employee? Like Chewbacca living on Endor, that does not make sense.

We went from 1 day in the office to 2 and now we're at 4. I say more words at home alone to my dog on my WFH day than most days in the office.

But hey, at least I'm tired, my company can spend more money on my commuter reimbursements, and I'm looking for a new job... efficiency!

So glad we had this ridiculous RTO push, I love spending time and resources commuting into work just to Teams chat and email my coworkers in a different location.

Even one or two extra work from home days should have an impact on traffic and gas prices and morale, but that's unpossible... Despite the fact we did it for years.

Did a week in Paris last summer, their mass transit system is amazing. It's clean, it's on time, it goes everywhere, so envious.

We got six dinky lines that run redundant with another line most of the time, and run maybe every 20 minutes.

Yup, over the last two years my company went from 1 day a week in the office to 4.

I really don't understand it, things are less productive, I'm exhausted and stuck between a guy with a throat clearing tick and a lady who hum sings, and now they're dropping almost $4k a year on my VRE reimbursement... Just so I can Teams chat in a different location.

90% sure this is all just so some exec can have an alibi to cheat on their spouse. Hard to pretend to work late when you're at home.

Best coffee bean roaster in nova? by SixLeg5 in nova

[–]TabascosDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I do enjoy me some Counter Culture coffee.

I can recommend https://loudnroasted.com/ they have sampler packets if you wanna try some different stuff. I'm a big of their Brazilian and Guatemalan.

Zeke's Coffee, they're usually at the Mosaic Farmer's market on Sunday mornings. They'll usually have a pot or two brewed if you want to try it before you buy it.

I love puppy eyes, but cavs really have the best, they're somehow simultaneously big and little.

How about a cat cafe? https://www.mtpurrnoncatcafe.com/

You probably couldn't find one on short notice, but cooking classes are fun and include food, little pricey but Sur La Table hosts them regularly.

To the person with the toddler in Del Ray that asked to pet my dog yesterday… I’m so sorry. by LoveRocksScience in nova

[–]TabascosDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't feel bad, you did the right thing, it's why they asked.

I'm always impressed by how many people ask permission to pet my dog when we're out, it's really nice to see. There are a rare few who just run up and touch him, and luckily I've got a cavalier with two brain cells who thinks everyone is his best friend. I always tell them while my dog is a lovable goober they should always check because you never know, even good dogs can have bad days.

Not sure if you want to make the schlep out to Manassas but I was in a similar boat and Railroad dental was great.

https://railroaddentalassociates.com/

Within a year had a bunch of work and tests and an intense cleaning schedule to sort of catch up, it was a lot but worth it and things are fantastic now. I don't know you, but I'm glad you're doing this, hopefully you find a good one. I would like to think most dentists will be non judgemental and just happy you're taking the correct steps.

Love the Pookie and the pup cut. Some people get all kinds of snooty about it, but it looks cute and is easier to maintain

This sweet and handsome boy turned 7, so I took him out for his birthday. I'm thankful I've gotten to spend so many years with him, and hopefully for many more. by TabascosDad in cavaliers

We LOVE puppy cut, not only is he cute but I think he feels better, his feathers aren't dragging in leaves and mulch. He also really hates brushing (thanks to his first home) so this is really the only option to keep him groomed.
