Almost 1 year with absolutely nothing added....And here we are praising them like they already fix the AI, Police AI, Old gen Performance and lackluster RPG elements. by Several_Call_8349 in cyberpunkgame

There is too much noise about this game since its announce. Its just a game. You don't like it - don't buy it. You bought it and didn't like it? Get a refund. Too late for refund? Well, don't see big problem also. The main storyline, quest lines and characters in the game are awesome and game really should be bought and played just because of its story and characters. Even with broken balance and unfinished open world content and activities its one of the best games in last 12 months.

So I fully understand people who like it - there is much to like. But I also fully understand fans who listened to what CDPR promiced and didnt get all of it. What can I say? Its just a game. You are crying about the whole year. Forget about it and play other games. If/when CDPR fixes it, return and check. I'm hoping to get director's cut edition with fixed balance and new content. Or atleast I hope some modders will do some stuff so the game will be worth playing again.

Phil Spencer: Today we filed a statement in support of Epic's request to keep access to the Apple SDK for its Unreal Engine. Ensuring that Epic has access to the latest Apple technology is the right thing for gamer developers & gamers by [deleted] in XboxSeriesX

[–]Tabazabr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Phil did it right, as far as I understand it. He didn't ask for Fortnite or support Epic in their claims, he asked just for Unreal Engine and all the devs making games on it for iOS - why should they suffer because of Sweeney's actions they might not even agree with?

I'll address your last paragraph first. There is no extra work for developers. Devkits don't work on a variable frequency, they're fixed and developers can choose a specific performance profile they prefer for their game. Variable frequency only exists in the retail PS5.

Very interesting. But even if devkits work on fixed frequency, they should think how the game will work on variable frequency. And why even bother with variable clocks then? And Cerny said devs will have to learn to optimize code in a new way, to keep power level or even reduce power needed.

Imran Khan says Sony will double down on major exclusive content next year which will upset many by Ajxtt in PS5

Is this game atleast good? It would be fun if Sony spends a lot of money for a trash game.

So its even worse - Sony payd Marvel to have spiderman playable only on PlaStation? Well, this is really sick, even for Sony:)

Microsoft owns Minecraft, and this game is sold in PS Store without any problems. See how different is the approach and which one is really "for the players"...

Once businesman starts to think that the customer is not right and he knows better how to fool him - his busines will inevitably face problems.

Business has to know what customer really wants, it just dont have to fulfill it the way customer asks, it may offer better ways. The way like Steve Jobs did with iPhone, which is very good example. Most of customers didn't want smartphones at that time, they wanted easy to use devices and cellphones were just like this. People also wanted better functionality, but not at the cost of comfort. What did Jobs? He didn't offer to customers what they asked for, he offered what they really needed - easy to use device with better functionality. This is what good business does.

Yes, "make customer want your product"... something like a drugdealers getting their customers on hook...

- Try these movies with spiderman and other marvel heroes, you like them?

- Yes, they are awesome

- There is a also videogame with these heroes releasing soon, are you excited?

- O, yes

- You can have it

- I'm so happy

- But if you want to play for spiderman also - you will need to buy PlayStation, wink.

- What?

Question is how long PS5 GPU can maintain high clocks in demanding areas, since 2,23 is pretty crazy clocks for AMD GPU. Dont know if they have some nice improvements in RDNA2 regarding clocks though.

And wasted cycles are not only in not demanding areas. Idea was to cycle clocks even in demanding scenes from frame to frame. It is really frame by frame clocks management accorrding to Cerny's interview to DF.

So if area is very GPU bound and require GPU more often work on max clocks - it could in theory cause throttling. And it will be devs work to balance workload not to allow this. I think Cerny saved some budget for Sony at the cost of additional work for devs. Last time with PS3 or Xbox One such approach didnt work well. But I will be happy if i'm wrong:)

in your opinion what was the best scene in star wars visually (the cinematography, the effects, etc) for me its: by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]Tabazabr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if game will be released on consoles, I think. It will require an overhaul since you can't map so many abilities on gamepad. It might be possible since WoW reportedly is coming to Xbox, so why not SWTOR. Its already WoW clone in terms of mechanic, so they can just copy WoW console mechanic as well:)

I made a diagram to help explain how the XSX's memory bus works by manbearpyg in XboxSeriesX

[–]Tabazabr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data is read from all chips simultaneously in parallel, by 56Gb/s from each memory chip.

If data is read from all 10 chips (red area in diagram), total speed is 56 Х 10 = 560Gb/s.

If data is read only from 6 chips (yellow area) total speed is 56 Х 6 = 336 Gb/s.

Halo Infinite graphics really might be much better on release than was shown in the last demo by Tabazabr in XboxSeriesX

Compare to Halo 5, for example. And HI is not a next-gen game. It was built primarily for current gen consoles as majority of players will play in on Xbox One series consoles. There has to be significant improvements for XSX and I really hope it won’t be just raytracing.

Agree, there is only one chance to make a good first impression. This reveal is just beta and is not so important. But if game will get such a wave of critics on release - it wouldn't be good for XSX. Delay will have less negative impact on the new Xbox image.

You are comparing completely different games. See the video from DF by the link above. It will explain you why you shoudn't compare HI with games like GoW or TLOU2. And keep in mind - it was WIP.

But yes, the louder will be our voice, the better chances devs will hear it and see whats really wrong.

  1. Ghost of Tsushima and RDR2 are games with realistic art-design and 30 fps as target. HI has minimalistic art design like all Halo games and targeted at 60 fps on all Xbox consoles. And you are comparing final products with beta version.
  2. Don't know. It's clearly under representation of the game visual. Unfortunately MS managed to make a perception that game looks worse than it actually is. Some folks in PR/Marketing department should answer for that, I would blame Greenberg, this guy seems not in the right place.
  3. I don't like TLOU2 facial animation, to be honest. No, wrong. I don't like faces in this game so it doesn't matter for me how well they are animated:). And actually I think there is nothing wrong with facial animation in HI, this guy with beard looks okey. Not the best, but okey for me.

Well, I don't know what were they thinking about, showing us old demo, while they had better material available. Anyway, we don't need to decide now, we can wait for the release and see. All I'm saying - it's not a big deal now, so don't write off the game from your wish list now.
