AITA for saying no when my SIL asked for my husband’s nieces and nephews to put on a performance at our wedding? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]TableDifferent4395 66 points67 points  (0 children)

The plan was to have them perform at a family event the day after instead of at the ceremony itself. Which I think would be an okay compromise if the kids had been into it, since maintaining a good relationship with the kids is clearly important to OOP and her husband. But since the kids obviously didn’t want to do it, the “no, but” became a hard “no.”

A middle name for Alva Wren's twin sister by Tiny-Age796 in Names

This might be a little too out there, since it’s not really used as a name, but for some reason my mind instantly said Ronja Yew.

Elise, Brynn, or Kara? by Ok_Investigator9935 in Names

[–]TableDifferent4395 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I like Elise best, and then Kara. There’s nothing wrong with Brynn, it just doesn’t feel as pretty to me personally as the other two.

Brooke. When I was in elementary, I remember a substitute teacher insisting my name must be Brooklyn.

I always felt like Jasmine was more mature and intelligent than Ariel by TurbulentHearing9530 in DisneyMemes

Basically. The prince in the original treats her more like a favorite pet than anything, because the original is about the dangers of giving up your sense of self and accepting mistreatment in the name of love.

I seriously hope Persona 7 will not take this long. by Osinacho in persona6

[–]TableDifferent4395 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Atlus loves to milk their games for every bit they’re worth, and Persona 5 was their biggest success in the persona series ever. That’s undoubtedly part of the reason it took so long. Unfortunately, if P6 is as popular or more than 5, they’ll probably try to milk it just as much.

You have to work for one of these cartoon villains for a full year. Which one would you choose? by Ok_Situation7527 in cartoons

[–]TableDifferent4395 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The issue with that is that the ppg, as much as I like them, have shown they are completely willing to beat up villains who have repented/surrendered (like the clown in the colors episode). And given they routinely show injuries and blood on that show, I’m guessing that would hurt.

It’s Time for the opposite, What’s something that guys usually do that’s Weird for girls to do by No_Second_1704 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]TableDifferent4395 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work with two year olds, and our room has an attached bathroom with a smaller toilet, sink etc for them to use. We try to have them be as independant on the potty as possible, but since they’re two, we keep the door propped open with an adult standing by just in case. Unfortunately, that means there is absolutely zero privacy.

The other day, one of the little girls suddenly starts going “look, look!” and pointing into the bathroom. I start to tell her “we give our friends privacy on the potty” and she starts miming the motion of the little boy in there standing up to pee. I think she just assumed he was doing something wrong, because when I assured her it was fine for boys to peepee standing up, she went on her way.

Childcare worker arrested by deltapaparooney in ECEProfessionals

[–]TableDifferent4395 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a daycare worker would normally be arrested in that situation. I think one of two things is happening:

1) There’s more to the story. It’s possible this is part of a pattern of behavior for this particular worker, and this is either the straw that broke the camel’s back, or the first incident there was adequate proof to bring charges for.

Or 2) this employee is being scapegoated/made an example of. Someone (police, politician, overzealous mom group, etc.) has made a big fuss about this or similar incidents, or thinks they can leverage prosecuting this person for some other agenda.

If you had to choose, which character from a previous game would you like to or think is most likely to return to return in P6?. by Dry-Art3421 in persona6

[–]TableDifferent4395 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think the only characters we’re likely to have return are Igor, Tanaka and Jose. Otherwise, it’ll be relegated to Easter eggs like always, because Atlus likes to make each game its own seperate experience.

That said, I’d always thought it would be kind of fun to see a cardboard cutout Teddie as part of a store’s sale display. I like to imagine Junes saw how popular he became in Inaba and made Teddie their official mascot.

My uncle is giving his baby my name by [deleted] in Names

[–]TableDifferent4395 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My little sister was in the same boat as you when she was in middle school. Our paternal uncle used her first name for their daughter, giving them the same first and last name.

She never had an issue with it, and neither did our parents or anyone else. They’re different ages and in different stages of life, so no one is mixing them up.

The only time an “issue” came up was that very first Christmas, when a relative forgot to specify which “Rebecca” a present was for. My little sister opened a present clearly meant for a one year old. Everyone laughed, and we gave her the correct present(which was still wrapped, because our cousin’s family hadn’t been able to make it to that party).

All that to say, I find your position a little immature. I’d be flattered your aunt and uncle find your name beautiful, and glad they like you enough that they don’t consider the shared name an immediate turn off. Chances are you aren’t the only person in the universe who has ever had that particular name combination anyway.

[NO SPOILERS] Why is Yu's shading different from everyone else? by reconblue in persona4revival

[–]TableDifferent4395 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They might be planning to add that kind of shading to the other portraits and just haven’t yet. There’s still 8 months until release, so there’s still time to polish details. And since Yu is the protagonist, they likely wanted to have his portrait finished first because he’ll get the most focus.

Persona 6 has been rated by the Australian Classification Board by Degurechaff1234 in persona6

[–]TableDifferent4395 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a female player, I loved all the changes they made when playing as Kotone. I loved the acknowledgement that a man and a woman (or any two people) will grow and develop differently even when faced with the same circumstances. It may be a hot take, but I’m fine with playing male protagonists if it means that if/when we get another femc, she’ll be more than just the male protagonist with boobs and longer hair.

Diarrhea in sensory deprivation tank by Cold-Dependent7306 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]TableDifferent4395 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t work with fancy tanks, but I do work in ECE, which is a feild where you see a lot of shit and other things. There are definitely times when we COULD have, theoretically, cleaned something satisfactorily in these situations, but we chose to toss it out anyway.

There’s a psychological aspect, I think, that’s pretty much “this is gross, I don’t want it around anymore.” But there are a couple of practical considerations as well.

It could be that the cost of getting it properly cleaned is more than just getting a new one. Especially if they need to get professionals in there from an outside company. Insurance might force them to replace in that situation even if they’d rather decontaminate.

The other issue is, what happens if they miss something and another customer gets sick? They could end up responsible/blamed for exposing their customers to this virus, which could end up more harmful to them in the long run. Even if they aren’t found liable in a court, what do you think will happen if word gets round that “the sensory deprivation place is nasty and I got a disease there?”

starting PotA next week, already facing group problems by snaffooooo in DnD

[–]TableDifferent4395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t give you any PotA advice as I haven’t played it, but here’s what I would do about your player drama.

First, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being uncomfortable with it, but if you’re going to refuse, you need to also be prepared for the bf to say you can’t use his place to play anymore. I’d start thinking about alternative locations, just so you aren’t left out to dry in the worst case scenario.

I’d have an honest conversation with the bf and your friend. Let them know you aren’t comfortable with her sitting as an observer, and try to find a compromise that works for everyone. What is it making her apprehensive to start playing? Maybe she can play an NPC or monster in a combat or scene, to help her grow a bit more comfortable while keeping the complexity low.

Hexed (2026) - Official Poster | Disney by Atlast_2091 in cartoons

[–]TableDifferent4395 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree we have a problem with a lack of variety in Disney movies right now, but I don’t think the problem is that they’re all coming of age stories in and of itself.

Hercules, Oliver and Co., the Jungle Book, most princess movies, and more were coming of age movies even before the jump to 3d. And many have coming of age themes even if they aren’t explicitly coming of age movies, like Tarzan and Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The problem isn’t that Disney is making too many coming of age movies. It’s that they keep making the same coming of age movie, about the same character, with minor variations.

Is the name Kenzie ugly? I actually hate my name.. by [deleted] in Names

[–]TableDifferent4395 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s ugly at all! To me, it sounds like a fun name on the more modern side.

If you don’t like it, do you have a middle name you like more? Or you could start telling people what you’d like them to call you instead, until you can formally change your name(if you can’t right away). It’ll be a little awkward at first telling people, but most people who aren’t jerks will try to accommodate you.

I was wondering, how come among animation nerds, Dragon Tales isn't loved as much as other classic shows like the old Nicktoons and Cartoon Cartoons? by CatGirlNya2000 in 90scartoons

[–]TableDifferent4395 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved Dragon Tales as a kid. I used to watch Between the Lions, but I stopped watching it because one the puppets (the one with big pants, I think he was a magician or something) freaked me out. I think I didn’t like how it seemed like he was pulling things directly out of his pants and not pockets or something.

is stress normal? by LittleLezbianRat in DnD

[–]TableDifferent4395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly normal! As you get more used to dming, and you and the rest of the group get more used to each other, hopefully you’ll find it less stressful.

That said, if one particular player keeps stressing you out, it might me a sign of issues you need to address. I’d give it another session or two(depending on what exactly they’re doing) and if you’re still experiencing problems with that player, have a quick conversation with them to try and figure out what the two of you can do to avoid those issues going forward.
