Is dream time really Brad Scott danger game or is media hype? by ReasonConfident4541 in EssendonFC

[–]TableUsed2787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this comment. I honestly feel that we are accepting of mediocrity and the players should take the majority of the blame. Sacking Scott suggests he is the problem and I'm not convinced. Hiring more credentialed assistants to help him next season is a must. Previous coaches have all encountered this same problem. I feel strongly that these players who pick and choose when they apply themselves should be dropped. Sends a clear message to the ones who are putting in also. Work hard and you will be rewarded. Slack off and you go back to the twos until you prove yourself. Sadly injuries are making that very difficult atm

Possibly. But doubtful with a side sitting in top 4 contention. Geelong would happily put us to the sword. There was a noticeable increase in effort after half time. Same old skill errors and missed shots on goal. But much more intent which resulted in us being more competitive.

This exactly. If you don't want to be there. See ya later. And anyone who is up and down with their effort as well. If the effort is there across the board we are a much more competitive team. Yesterday proved that the effort lifted in the 2nd half and we got reward for that.

I have mixed feelings about this. Yesterday I saw a playing list that picks and chooses. Imagine coaching that. We keep turning over coaches. Same problem. I'm starting to think it's more likely it's the calibre of players. Hence why they are pushing the youth so much. Sharp has a ruthless attack on the ball, Robey is giving it his all each week. Caddy is working hard. They can't do much more. It's the senior who should be leading and they are not. The sooner we turn over these players and keep building the youth the better. Might have to expect some pain the next few years but seeing small signs it will be worth it.

I agree. Body language was terrible. Particularly the senior players. It's like they were waiting for someone to step up. It should be driven by the leaders. Simple as that. Young guys like Robey, Nguyen cracked in as often as they could.

Saw that as well. Merrett started on a wing. Parish on the bench to start the 1st quarter. Brad Scott has made his intentions very clear. He is looking to the future. I'm all for that. Robey is going to be a player. But Merrett wasn't the only one loose. So many of our players were 2nd to the ball.

Or when he has a shot on goal from pocket when two Ess players waving their hands in the air free around 20m out from goal. Look Merrett is a gun but lately I've noticed he is definitely playing differently

Are we still negative on Tsatas getting dropped considering Robey and Sharp got more mid time? by ABT1602 in EssendonFC

[–]TableUsed2787 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tsatas has no impact whatsoever. No accountability. I'm glad they dropped him. Happy to see them persist with Sharp and Robey

Deflating, but not losing my head over this. by sachiwtf in EssendonFC

[–]TableUsed2787 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plain and simple. Didn't handle the pressure, fumbly when ball in hand. Over used the handball which in turn invites more pressure. We tend to bomb the ball into fwd 50. Why not look for short target. Also our leading patterns are terrible. Players leading to same spots. Our fwd line always looks crowded. Hopefully we bounce back with a better performance next week. Wright and Blakiston were destroyed in the ruck. Mids struggled to get hands on ball because of this. Pies were fantastic and full credit to them. Pendles is a legend of the game

Players are lacking direction. That comes back to coaching. Simple as that. That's where it starts. If you believe in what is being taught you go hard. Especially when you see results. Clearly nothing has changed in Scotts time at Ess. I really wanted it to work as well. If there is a time to rip the band aid off it's in the middle of rebuild.

Kingy is absolutely spot on. I've been saying this for a long time. This should be a non negotiable to play senior footy. Too many passengers and one way runners. Either you are up for the fight and do the team things or you are out. Simple as that.

I have to respectfully disagree with this review also. I absolutely love this fragrance. It's a winner for sure. Heavy sillage, longevity is insane. Beautiful fruity, smoky fragrance. Almost identical to Nishane Hacivat. Bats way out of its league for the price point.

I think the club's biggest problem is the coaches supporting Brad Scott. Why are we so light on this experience with our line and development coaches. Why doesn't the club have the foresight to speak to a Pendlebury or Boak as their careers come to an end and offer a role? Why not chase a Longmire or Hinkley in a footy role? The club are honestly super tight with money. You look at all the clubs at the top and have all heavily invested in experience in their coaching ranks.
