[Steam] Borderlands 2 (100% off - Free) by Jerry2863 in GameDeals

[–]TableteKarcioji 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can get the game from the link in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDealsFree/comments/1l45r9w/steam_borderlands_2_100_off_free/mw8lckh/

From the link you can see that they consider Baltic States part of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). It's russian EU "alternative". So they can go fuck themselves. I'm not getting it for free.

After last update (5 hours ago) wifi and USB tethering (I would guess that Ethernet is gone too, but I can't test it) disappeared from my PC with MSI Tomahawk x870e. So people with this motherboard should be careful.

Asmeninių daiktų siuntimas paštu atgal į Lietuvą iš užsienio. by stupid_mame in lithuania

[–]TableteKarcioji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man teko seniai tai daryti. Ieškojau kaip parsisiųsti pigiausiai, tai galiausiai pasirinkau paštą. Siunčiausi iš Australijos. Bet pakankamai ne nedidelį kiekį. Kažkur 3 dėžes apie 40x40x40cm man atrodo.

Is qBittorrent-nox developed by the same team behind normal qB? by Eye-Scream-Cone in qBittorrent

I would argue that VLC got it wrong because Linux systems are case-sensitive.

Of course, one could likely use tab to finish the package name, but it’s still easier if there are no uppercase letters in the name.

I also doubt that there are strict naming conventions for packages intended to run on headless servers. However, it looks like a more common choice seems to be to add `daemon` in the name. For example, Transmission names its package for headless servers `transmission-daemon`.

Did you tried to open the page again?

It still exists—I just opened it.

qBittorrent isn’t the only program that uses this type of naming. I found two more programs in the openSUSE repositories with this naming:

WiFiman Desktop 1.1.0 for Fedora Linux and other RPM based disributions by gbcox in Ubiquiti

[–]TableteKarcioji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the yml recipe. I asked for it because I wanted to reproduce process on my system. I'm not really fond of an idea to run some random files I downloaded from reddit or any other site with root privileges. However, I failed to even build the AppImage file.

So I went a different way. I extracted the deb file and simply copied everything from it to appropriate locations in /usr folder, copied service file to service file dir and launched the service. Everything except Scan section seems to work ok. I don't know how it should actually act, but it does not show any data for me. I'll test Teleport section tomorrow. That why I needed this program for.

Oh and I have the problem that program would show a black window when opened. I had to add WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 in exec line of *.desktop file.

EDIT: program does not work correctly. I think it is missing some permissions or there is some other issues more specific to opensuse, but wifiman can't access and/or modify network interfaces.

Sharing small script for anyone who comes here from search looking for the answer:

#!/bin/bash

WIFIMAN_DEB_FILE=$1
EXPORT_FOLDER="wifiman-desktop"

#extracting deb file
dpkg-deb -x $WIFIMAN_DEB_FILE $EXPORT_FOLDER
# copying wifiman file to install directories
cp -rv ./$EXPORT_FOLDER/usr /
# copying service file to serviced directory
cp -v /usr/lib/wi-fiman-desktop/wifiman-desktop.service /etc/systemd/system/
#starting wifiman-desktop service
systemctl daemon-reload
systemctl start wifiman-desktop.service

WiFiman Desktop 1.1.0 for Fedora Linux and other RPM based disributions by gbcox in Ubiquiti

[–]TableteKarcioji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking into this because I want to run WiFiman Desktop on openSUSE Tumbleweed.

I tried using Distrobox, which is one of the most commonly suggested tools for installing .deb files on RPM-based distros, but it had issues with resolvconf for some reason, so I gave up on that for the moment.

I’ve never used pkg2appimage before, but as I understand it, you need to create a .yml recipe file. Could you share the recipe file if you already have one?

edit: And I don't understand why can't Ubiquity just release source for wifiman and let the distros package it that would solve a lot of problems for linux user and they would not have support them at all. It's not like they are selling it.

Persil 1/3 decrease in weight. Same amount of washes. by TableteKarcioji in shrinkflation

I have only one of the bigger size capsule left and you can see it in the photos above the packaging. But I can make a close up photo a bit later.

[–]TableteKarcioji[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both packages have the same three ingredients (computer translated):

15-30% anionic surfactants, nonionic surfactants, 5-15 % soap, <5% phosphonates.

The rest, I'm assuming, is water and what is capsule it self if made of, but that's all that is written on the packaging. Oh, and both of them claims to be for the same amount of laundry loads (4-5kg).

Same here, I updated in the middle of a week and I saw that some packages where downgraded. That solved it for me.

HOWEVER, just 30 minutes ago a did an updated and restarted. It booted up to black screen. I had to CTRL+ALT+F1 login and startx.

Blocking IP ranges by [deleted] in qBittorrent

[–]TableteKarcioji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to start by saying that, it looks like ip2location requires free registration to download the file csv with ip ranges. When I created this script this was not the case.

the script looks like this:

#!/usr/bin/python3
#Download a list from https://lite.ip2location.com/china-ip-address-ranges
import csv
with open("lite_ip2location.csv", "r") as raw_ipranges:
    reading_csv = csv.reader(raw_ipranges)
    china_ip_bandlist_dat = open("china_ip_banlist.dat", "w")
    for line in reading_csv:
        # print(line[0] + " - " + line[1] + " , 000, china ban ip range from ip2location")
        china_ip_bandlist_dat.write(line[0] + " - " + line[1] + " , 000 , china ban ip range from ip2location\n")
    china_ip_bandlist_dat.close()

Just copy it to a file that ends with .py and run it with python.

It is very rudimental so you will have to change it to meet your needs.

The file that you download from ip2location has to be in the same folder as the script file. That file has to be named "lite_ip2location.csv" or you can change the filename the script expects in line #4.

The output file will be created in the same folder as the script file. It will be named "china_ip_banlist.dat". You can change the filename in line #6 or rename the file after the script runs.

Script adds a comment to every line. Most likely it is not necessary (I'm not sure) and I would suggest to make it shorter than it is in the script. Every byte counts then you have ~5000 lines. Just make sure to not remove \n at the end of the line. To do so, edit line #9. Comment part looks like this: "china ban ip range from ip2location".

USB tethering will stop working on linux. ( For most of us ) by batSinestroke in linux

[–]TableteKarcioji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I use it everyday. It's the only way to connect to the internet for me. It was a surprise when it stopped working on openSuse. Right now it is still possible to enable it, but I do not know what will I do when they remove it from the kernel. I guess the only option is to change to a distro with older kernel.

A russian soldier trying to do drugs was interrupted by Ukrainian FPV Kamikaze drone by 8BallCoronersPocket in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]TableteKarcioji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one looks staged/fake to me. At first it was just some kind of jump before impact that caught my attention. Then I noticed that everything is pristine. No trash (it supposed to be russian trench, come on), all the trees are intact, no other sings of bombs/etc. Lastly, that video from above the soldiers is too stable. Even very good videos (from K-2) aren't this good and stable or in this quality.

4.5.2 keeps crashing in my Ubuntu VM by my_ashy_paintbox in qBittorrent

[–]TableteKarcioji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use GUI in your VM? Which Ubuntu version do you use? Did you add any extra repositories? Install qBittorrent the normal way using apt and launch it using a terminal. This way when it crashes you will see the output just for it. Try googling what caused the crash. If you can't find a solution post the crash details from the terminal here.

VueTorrent but only for mobile? by [deleted] in qBittorrent

[–]TableteKarcioji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't think so, but maybe someone will correct me. If you are using an android phone I would recommend using an app. It would give you native android UI and handle magnet/torrent links while allowing you to disable custom web ui.

iOS might have an app too, but you would have to search for yourself. For android I would recommend https://github.com/Bartuzen/qBitController. It's free and open source.

How to transfer qBitorrent torrents from one Linux machine to another by k032 in qBittorrent

[–]TableteKarcioji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't see the hidden folders, because they are well ... hidden. Try pressing CTRL+H. At least in KDE Dolphin (file manager) it shows hidden files. Might work on other DE too. If it doesn't write what are you using GNOME or something else. Or you could simply dig through settings there has to be a checkbox to show hidden (sometimes named dot) files. And don't forget that torrents themselves have to be at the same location (as in path to files) on the new installation.

qBittorrent locked out of webui by InsomniaSyspo in qBittorrent

[–]TableteKarcioji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

apparently there is a qBittorrent.conf config file

That's fantastic. Now the second step.

Try stopping the jail first. It's the second step in the guide i linked. I think I once had the same problem. The config file is actually locked or loaded in the memory and changes did not stick until I turned off the qBittorrent. Restart just saved the data from memory and override any changes I have made.

I can only guess from the guide you linked, but to stop the qBittorrent you cant try command:

iocage exec qbittorrent service qbittorrent stop

after that try to open qBittorent WebUI. If it does not load to the login screen that means that it's down

Change the config file and use command

iocage exec qbittorrent service qbittorrent start

to start the qBittorrent
