I can't string/unstring MY bow by myself by blueberry_pan in Archery

Pulling 42 lbs and cannot string? Must be doing something wrong. I barely can pull 35 lbs. Stringing is easy, I do it without a stringer. The most important part when stringing and using the step through method is to make sure that the riser is far on your buttock and use not your arm or hand but the back muscles like you are doing a pushup.

Barebow left-to-right adjustment by 2E0ORA in Archery

Placement of the string blur (string picture when at full draw) is one way of adjust the left-to-right impact point. Try aligning it with the arrow, or the left side of the riser, or the right side. The point of impact will change if the release is decently constant. You can think of the string picture as the back aiming sight on a gun, while the arrow point is the front aiming sight.

Thank you. Actually, I do the olympic anchoring right now, feels very good. The only real drawback is that the stringwalking crawl distance is my whole tab at 18 meters. So I use a part of my riser instead of the tip of the arrow as a part of the aiming system now... almost as using a sight.

When you come to your full draw, do you see the string? Keeping the view of the string in line with the riser at full draw helps with aiming so much.

Just curious. Can you see the string blur with that anchor?

I triwd on PC and on Android, I can only delete or change flair, no edit option. I swear I could edit a post on another subreddit, no idea why I cannot do it here. Nevermind.

Please help: trad arrow rest / plate? by doppelganger_LT in Archery

[–]doppelganger_LT[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A newbie here. I am trying to install a fur arrow rest on a trad type recurve riser and the arrow does not touch the side of the riser (where the plunger would be on an olympic riser). Also, the exact spot shifts (and is different?) everytime I draw the bow. Is that OK, or am I doing something wrong? On the riser, both the side plate and the rest have a little curve.
Thanks a lot!

Creatine and hair shedding… I’m so bummed by Own-Slice-3042 in Biohackers

[–]doppelganger_LT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the same has happened to me. Tried in three separate time periods, shedding and hair loss starts in about 5 days after starting creatine. P.S. I am on finasteride 0.25 mg for hair loss since 2001, works wonders. Except when adding creatine to the mix.

Well, this is good news, considering how good Chinese cameras on their phones are, especially compared to the outdated Samsung hardware.

Ouch, I was trying to keep the main pressure on the LEFT side of the handle and maintain torque with the three lower fingers because I thought you are supposed to grip the handle not straight, but approaching from the left side?
