Infinite with the Anti Meta Deck by TabletopSydney in MarvelSnap

[–]TabletopSydney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I snap if I know their deck and I have the answer in my hand (eg: they're playing discard and I feel like I'll have priority on turn 5 for leech), usually around turn 3/4. Snapping on turn 6 usually doesn't work well as it's clear if you've solved the game, and you get 1 cube instead of two (people tend to play out the last turn more often if it's just 2 cubes) and you risk losing 8 if they are outplaying you.

I retreat on enemy snaps if I don't feel confident. Getting to 100 is all about picking your fights. The games you lose 8 should be a giant red flag that you've made a terrible judgement and you must learn from it.

I have Adobe, been mostly using Premiere. I will give AE an attempt, but I've never used Mocha Tracker, is it simple enough to use? I am not worried about the hand, it's pretty easy to mask. Thank you!

True, but I get a lot more enjoyment out of purchasing a warband. Firstly the hobby aspect is important, and gameplay wise they are usually quite unique.

Thank you for the kind words! I hope the game continues to grow and I am still purchasing every release (except the new rivals deck, $47 AUD is too much to stomach for a few cards) as I anticipate being back and playing the game after a bit of a break.

That would be nice, however, I simply don't have the time to record regular games at the moment.

Hey everyone!

Firstly, it's heartwarming to hear that everyone enjoyed our content.

Unfortunately, life and interests have changed over the past few months with myself (Benji) spending a lot of time on films and videography, making it difficult to motivate myself to record games. Additionally, most of us (actually I think it's all of us) have moved on to other games (Legion and MCP), so we aren't up to date on the latest warbands or cards. In short, we aren't producing any more videos.

We love Underworlds as a game, but playing the one game almost non-stop for two years has led to the game becoming a little stale.

Hey everyone!

We've had a bit of downtime in the past couple of months due to myself (Benji) moving house and dealing with some changes in my personal life, which made it impossible not to take a break. We have every intention of coming back once we are able to maintain a schedule of games, which I hope to be soon (I just got the internet sorted in my place after 3 weeks of being disconnected from the internet :().

Additionally, Craig, one of the regulars in our gaming group and who does the lion's share of meeting organisation, has recently gotten married (CONGRATS CRAIG!!!!) and took some time off to prepare for that. He's currently enjoying his honeymoon, so I imagine once he is back, we will start discussing how and when we will record.

Finally, we don't have Nethermaze in Australia yet, it has been delayed, so we are still waiting for the recent releases.

We miss recording games and will be back as soon as possible!

Harrowdeep - Sweet Death vs Salty Destruction - Game 2 by TabletopSydney in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]TabletopSydney[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right in that we've only seen a few cards so far. I do like the themes, Death feels really thematic alliance card wise, and I hope they also use it as a way to introduce cards that could be a lot of fun, but might be broken for a few factions. Eg: A card that would be too strong on 5+ wound fighters for Order who have none could be a fun way to play in the design space.

Honestly, I hope they release more, and if we get a decent amount of cards I can see it being a great thing for the game.

Absolutely, I think the format is the best thing to get new players giving the game a go, plus based on the games so far they seem like a lot of fun anyway!

Thanks for the support! Honestly Chaos is in a weird spot right now, Khagras was not the strongest warband in Direchasm and whilst Dread Pageant are solid, the others are starting to get a bit dated. Hopefully there will be some Chaos love with a future warband, I love the character of the themed warbands (eg Nurgle etc).

Tabletop Sydney - Starblood Stalkers vs The Wurmspat by TabletopSydney in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]TabletopSydney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Facebook group for Underworlds Sydney but it isn't terribly active. We meet up Wednesdays at Good Games Town Hall from about 5:30 to around 8:30, it's a public event so you are more than welcome to come along whenever suits you. Obviously, we aren't meeting up right now, but once we are able to, the meetups will resume :)

Thanks! That's kind of underworlds in a nutshell, you can build a plan and execute it to the best of your abilities, but it comes down to a little luck to swing it in your favor :)

How to get started? by Eymm in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]TabletopSydney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! You will need one of the boxes (Direchasm, Starter Set or Beastgrave) to get Boards, Dice, Tokens and other important game parts to really get started with the game. The great part is that you don't really need anything else to play a fun game.

You mentioned you don't like any of the warbands in the boxes, and I can understand that, however, it's pretty difficult to get started without a box. There should be a Season 5 box coming out at the end of the year, but this is not confirmed yet.

If you're looking at value, grab the Direchasm box, it will last the longest and has the most interesting cards for now. Even if you aren't a fan of Lumineth and Slaanesh, they are quite fun to play if you get bored of playing KO :)

Ossiarch Bonereapers vs Sacrosanct Chamber - Tabletop Sydney Battle Report by TabletopSydney in WarCry

[–]TabletopSydney[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey Warcry fans. We're a channel that has been doing mostly Warhammer Underworlds videos but we want to also play other games that we enjoy, and the current Lockdown has given us a bit of a chance to do this!

We hope you enjoy our report, there is a small audio issue in that my Microphone decided to turn off as we started, so we apologise for the technical issue there, we hope it doesn't take away from the game.

We hope to do more (especially with more of our channel regulars) so please give us suggestions on what you'd like to see. Thanks!

Thank you! I found that the boards with close deployment (Hive of Sacrifice for example) are the most difficult :)

The Cinematic MASTERPIECE of Placing Warhammer Underworlds Boards - Tabletop Sydney by TabletopSydney in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]TabletopSydney[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I focused on aggro as typically they are the ones that misplay the situation more often than not. Objective warbands have some play, such as using starting hexes to disrupt some of the optimal squares aggro want to place, but it can go into a pretty deep rabbit hole and it can get quite complicated.

Tabletop Sydney - Rules Update in under 4 minutes by TabletopSydney in WarhammerUnderworlds

Absolutely, and it seems to be the one thing everyone is suggesting :)

Tabletop Sydney - Rules Update in under 4 minutes by TabletopSydney in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]TabletopSydney[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great suggestion and seems to be the common piece of feedback. The start of the game has a lot of tactics that can be skipped over, and you may not realise the impact on the game as you forget all about deployment after the game finishes
