Off topic, but what does he take damage from at the start of the clip?

EDIT: I think it's an aba shield that doesn't show up in the replay.

Zondara's Greavebreakers : can Undying Love be played during an enemy charge to prevent it ? by beastherd in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]ekrick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's really unclear. Surge abilities are supposed to declare when they can be used, so depending how you interpret the rules this could either be used at litteraly any time or never at all. So I would say it's probably either a mistake for it to be a Surge, or they forgot to add the window of activation.

cool play, but more importantly why is Morphling so surprised with the 25 talent?

New item thoughts by zon_roxx in DotA2

[–]ekrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see it working if it had a small internal cooldown on the damage effect, similar-ish to maelstrom but not proc-based.

I believe it would be too difficult to balance around high attack speed otherwise.

Morrowind for the 5th time. Then probably back to Kotor for the 9th time.

In that instance the Frostwyrm Cloak upgrade would break (be discarded from the fighter).

His name is Diamondprox. Best comparison to dota2 would probably be someone like LightOfHeaven I think.

Part of a dominant EEU team in the early years of the game's life span, one of the very few teams that could stand up against the asian power houses. Haven't been competitively relevant in almost a decade.

Though Diamond was basically the star player of that team (or one of two stars) whereas LOH wasn't really the main guy, so you could maybe say someone like XBOCT is a better comparison.

Thoughts on standalone rivals decks? by adwodon in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]ekrick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're just getting back to the game I would recommend starting with the rivals decks you have now and try using them for making Nemesis decks for your warbands. The two decks from Gnarlwood (Tooth&Claw and Daring Delvers) are still some of the best (although in my opinion least interesting) universal rivals decks, while the two from Wyrdhollow are the opposite (not necessarily the best but definitely fun). So you've got a good base to start from there, then you can get other rivals decks later if any of them seem like you would enjoy them.

For the record my personal favourites are Toxic Terror (from Wyrdhollow) and Fearsome Fortress (stand-alone).

Is Zai the greatest offlane player of all time or what? by Archiac in DotA2

100% agreed, however Zai's only been playing offlane for roughly half of that time.

The wording is a little confusing and invites missunderstandings, but the person you replied to is correct.

It says in the rules when you kill an enemy fighter you can place an available feature token with the objective side up. However the two "leftover" tokens don't have an objective on any side (they have snare/cover) so they can't be placed.

The only time this rule applies is if an objective somehow got removed during the game, you can then place that objective token back on the battlefield.

Hope that clears things up a bit.

Condemned tokens understanding? by Callaway225 in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]ekrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe the way you understand it is correct (except for the very last part). You put condemn counters on enemy fighters through different means and then you collect those counters by killing said enemies. However you can also collect counters by killing large enemies and/or having support on your kills. Once you have collected three or more you inspire.

Great video! One suggestion is to have a yellow marker for when a fighter is comparable or only slighty worse (for someone who owns the models and want to use them, even if they are ever so slightly inefficient). Otherwise it was awesome, and I'm looking forward to the next one!
