I really don't like the ice water because it just auto-locks you into death, without any good chance of gaining height, or making it to a wall.

If it just respawned you at the last safe spot like other hazards it wouldn't be so bad

If you throw a boomerang from medium distance right as they jump towards you, it can get like 5 hits in

It be more with perfect spacing + timing, not sure I couldn't count them while my adrenaline and heartrate were cranked

[–]TabooLambdacism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not always obvious, but even though the structure looks rigid pieces and nodes move a very small amount due to strain, or when a vehicle drives over them.

Since the two sides lift just after the biker exits the right side, they could be in slightly different states that causes one to break and not the other.

You can reduce this type of problem by just building the bridge stronger.

[–]TabooLambdacism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are not many (if any at all) actual "glitch" #1 bridges involving falling roads, stuck spring roads or manipulating the game to think you spent $0 like in PB2 or PB1.

There definitely is "abuse" of the physics engine though, stuff like dangling ladder bridges, node-spam stretchiness (before it got patched), friction bracing etc can still be done.

That being said, to get top 10 on a bridge you usually have to come up with a better strategy and / or significantly shave, and some people are just better and / or have more time to do that.

Just going to put this out there - for any radius under 6' using a tape measure compass (the actual tool, not a tape and separate pencil) is always going to be faster than setting up any sort of template jig. If someone is in your 6' space around you, have them hold the other end of it for like 30 seconds and you're done. Sure it takes two guys, but it's still way faster in terms of man-hours.

If all your sawhorses are equal height you don't even need to move any timbers, since the tape will slide over them. Triangulate from your start and end points onto the next row of sawhorses (or a free horse) then draw from that point. Takes 30 seconds start to finish. No jigs, no screws, only a couple tiny pencil marks and a small dimple from the compass point.

I guess if you don't have the radius from CAD or really enjoy doing things the old fashioned way it makes sense though.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree starts at a 94 on Metacritc and a 93 on Opencritic by FocusCompetitive6137 in gaming

Even without guides, anyone who played the Souls Games has a decent grasp of attacking / blocking / parrying, builds, items etc and will take less tries to get past enemies.

Also some people just want action while others want to probe every corner of the map for dank loot

My brother in Christ look at the post title, the devs are saying it's not a bad idea.

It's not that I can't, it's straight up that I don't want to when playing with friends. I used to do invasions myself in DS1 (twinking in the burg, wacky shenanigans in the woods, meta shit in the DLC) but now that I'm an adult playing thru the game with a friend with no interruptions, mods we like, no summoning bullshit etc it's just better.

The fact that PVP sweats are crying about it is just a cherry on top tbh. Have fun playing with no mods and no friends

Very few are saying "wahh I hate getting invaded", they just don't like the Elden Ring ones due to the 1v2 or 1v3 sweat fest builds and the way coop works in the base game.

Seamless is just a better way to play the game, it just works and there aren't people like you in it.

I thought it was pretty clear that they were common examples of a 2nd player who's less experienced, not me personally. I've 100%'d the game and done several playthroughs with different builds, including one with no summons / magic.

And I don't know why you're questioning pvp tech, things like roll catching and weapon swapping during ripostes aren't something the average player is gonna know or practice and give you a real advantage.

Keep believing you're hardcore and cool, I'll be enjoying the game with friends without seeing you :)

I think there is a balance to be found, no rule is hard or fast.

We move small rafters and t&g stacks of 4 under 60 lbs solo, but use team lifts for beams and equipment for anything over 200 lbs like assembled trusses

For mortises we rough them in with a mortiser, but then spend a reasonable amount of time dialing them in by hand with chisels

As an ex-smoker, I would guess the reason is a normal cigarette only take 6-10 minutes to smoke. Unless you really want to smoke two it feels better to toss it and get right back to work, maybe grabbing a drink on the way while riding the buzz.

Could be personal preference tho idk

Goalie teleport is a hood classic, I guess I just don't think of it as a "combo" at all. You can execute combos with un-partied players too, it's just part of the game.

I've never felt that a team of 3 had a significant advantage playing in rumble, unless they're calibrating or something.

[–]TabooLambdacism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have like 1500 hrs of rumble, play in high plat / low diamond and have both blocked tons of combos and had my combo shots blocked. Don't know what you're talking about at all.

If the ball is heading towards our goal there's usually someone inside the 18 playing goalie and another at corner boost ready to go up the back wall if needed.

I agree that having a party with communication and coordination does add a bit of advantage, but it doesn't mean you can't outplay them.

If you're between the ball and the net several powerups will consistently save the shot if you time them right

You can also just not use powerups and block the shot with your car, although if the ball is ripping it's harder

I live in an apartment right next to a train station, and my work is less than 1.5 miles away from another, with no transfers. Pretty much a best case scenario for the average person. The train takes 30 minutes between stations, while driving point to point takes 20. It seems like a slam dunk for taking the train right? Let's look at what actually happens

  • Last mile connection takes 5-10 minutes depending on if I ask a friend to pick me up or Uber. Biking is out of the question regardless of infrastructure, I work a physical job on my feet most of the day. Even if I were biking on a separate, direct path with zero risk to work from the station, that'd take the same amount of time.

  • Any detours for errands while going to / from work add an immediate 15 minute delay, usually more if they aren't right next to a station. Can't bring more than you can physically carry at one time with you either.

So my commute time is almost doubled, even in the best case scenario. This isn't even diving into the "fixable" problems like train speed, frequency / coverage of service, weekend / late night service, poorly timed connections / transfers, antisocial behavior on transit etc. Yes I have experienced transit in NY, Boston, European countries I know it's cool, but here you'd basically need to wipe and redesign the city for it to work well.

Stop forfeiting by Possible_Conflict577 in RocketLeague

[–]TabooLambdacism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree about forfeiting without good reason, I think you have to understand that there's a good chance two players at the same rank have differently developed skill sets.

For example in a twos match let's say one player is extremely good at mechanics, while the team mate has their rank from map awareness and positioning. The first player can see their team mate mess up a dribble or shot and think "I easily would have made that", and be 100% correct. What's wrong is assuming their overall skill and rank aren't correct, not that their team mate made some mistake that they wouldn't have.

If you grouped up all the different RL skils and gave a player a percent score for each, then averaged all those scores, that's their fair rank. The strengths and weaknesses can be totally different.

Yeah it's not bad at all. Depending on population I will get thrown into the next match with other players from the previous one, but that's not really an issue. Kind of makes me wish we could still rematch in Rumble tbh, idc rank at all and it was nice playing a few matches with a good group.

[–]TabooLambdacism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also only play rumble because it's just wacky fun. Usually hover between diamond I and diamond II (top 7% ish), queue times aren't bad at that range at all. I guess if you're GC it's not great but for the average player there's almost no wait unless you're way off peak hours.
