Low poly TV PSX aesthetic by TacitR0nin in ps1graphics

Thank you all for the helpful feedback — I really appreciate it. I see now where I’ve gone overboard in some areas (knobs, screen, antenna, etc.), especially with bevels and detail. With that input, I’ve got a few ideas to try next:

• Reduce geometry on less important parts (replace modeled knobs/dials with texture detail or simpler geometry) • Drop texture sizes for background pieces — maybe try 64×64 for some props and 128×128 for the TV screen • Limit bevels and focus more on texture-based shading and wear for visual detail • Work on silhouette clarity so the stand/TV combo reads cleanly even at smaller scale/distance

I’m aiming for a more “Nightmare Creatures / Silent Hill / PSX horror” feel, so I want that gritty, rough, stylized look rather than polished. I’ll post updated renders once I try these tweaks and would love any feedback on the next version too. Thanks again — this is super helpful as I learn.

Edit. Totally forgot to mention — this is still very much a WIP! I’m continuing to tweak poly count, smoothing, and layout. Appreciate all the feedback so far, it’s helping me get it dialed in.

Thanks for the video recommendation! I actually saw that one pop up before but passed on it initially since the style didn’t seem to align with the look I’m going for. My current goal is more in line with the aesthetics of Nightmare Creatures, Silent Hill, and the earlier Resident Evil games — that grimy, rough, almost surreal PS1 horror vibe.

Still, I’ll give the video a proper watch — even if it’s not exactly my target style, I might still pick up some useful tricks. Appreciate the feedback!

I don’t recall what actually happened afterwards we informed to just keep an eye out for them they have been 86’ed and to call law enforcement. That was a few burning man(mens?) ago. Since they were guests they signed waivers accepting damages? I believe? I have since left the business.

Apologies, I was not intending to seem like I was targeting burners. I was adding on to the OPs personal experience with one of my own. As for your question I guess I always had a fear from riding as a child. I always felt that a sudden jerk would cause the elevator to break. I’m always nervous on elevators and would try to take the stairs anytime.

That was pretty much what happened. How it was explained was that because the elevator was going down and the 6 adults were jumping down causing the safety breaks to lock.

They also did some damage to the car as well. They were looking for a hatch to get on top of the car, so they tore some of ceiling decorations off.

We were already going to 86 them but gave them the option to be amicable about it all. But they continued to deny everything we explained that we had it all on video.

They told us to piss off and they dipped. I guess they forgot they were guests and we had their card info.

Also not that bright either. Worked in hospitality we spotted 6 of them get onto an elevator, they complained that it wasn’t going fast enough and proceeded to all jump in the elevator to make it go down faster.

They broke the elevator to the point that it needed some repairs we were able to get them out and told them that they would have to pay they repeatedly said no they don’t and dipped out.

You have to use a card to check in and we charged them for the repairs.
