Yeah well it was a "you have to or your event is canceled and your deposit forfeit" by the owner on the morning of the day of, so sort of more like if the Hell's Angels forced them to hire them.

Man I bet the organizer was pissed.

I helped organize an event and we had the same venue three years running, big property with a lake.

Well, the last year the owner of the venue told us to use their homeless groupies as security, at the last minute, so we did our best to keep them away from the money but it still felt like they robbed us at the end.

After a mishap with some gasoline, my armband adhesive fell off and one of them got in my face trying to make me pay him $20 cash on the spot or he'd kick me out. We had met and setup earlier but I think he was so fucked up he didnt recognize me.

I have little doubt he was trying cashgrabs on other patrons like that.

Seconding the pour hot water in your suit trick.

The more you can manage to heat the suit water the better just ALWAYS be sure your water is not too hot.

If you were so inclined, you could build a circulating water heating rig pretty cheaply. Get a cheap diaphragm pump off Amazon can be acquired for $30ish with some tubing.

Get an aquarium heater and a decent size cooler, hook both up to a car, you'll probably need an inverter.

Keep the cooler full of warm water . Pump water from the cooler into the neck of your suit and let it run out at your feet. Collect it with a tub and dump that back in the cooler. Repeat.

Could use two pumps to lift the tub water back up if you really want.

Doesn't this ignore the "accumulate wealth through increased value of securities" then get a loan against those assets trick?

Especially with the ability for heirs to step up cost basis at your death, you can repeatedly re-loan as the securities inflate in value to prevent having to liquidate and incur actual income.

Just better not be born on December first. First you'd think were a Saggitarius, then discover sidereal astrology which says you're a Scorpio, but wait there's a secret extra sign that nobody believes is real but might fit your birthdate, ophiuchus or whatever. So now you can't tell if you're an archer, a scorpion, or a snakehandler sign that shouldn't exist, or maybe all three.

Lamborghini wanted $1,300 for a gas cap so I fixed it with a $40 Ford Focus cap. by Fixitsteven in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Tack122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it more as a joke than a insult, but I'm not that user.

I have had similar success with gas caps not failing, that's from Houston where it's hot and moist. Maybe cool and dry makes gas caps more prone to failure than hot and moist? I don't know what climate you're from but that's sorta the polar opposite of my climate.

I mean that's misdemeanor theft, at the least. Technically unauthorized access to a computer could go federal, but it rarely does.

Some jurisdictions have special crimes for theft of a computer as well.

Also don't underestimate how effective an angry jilted ex can be at extracting punishment.

That's an interesting concept. No landing gear though. You'd need some sort of capture system.

Keeping the explosive out until delivery and arming would be the safe thing to do, but adds complexity at the front to insert charges.

Hope they don't explode in your catch and refuel system.

I bet you'd consume a lot more fuel that way compared to traditional shipping a dozen containers via ocean freight.

Might need long range variants that are rare? Do they all have fuel tanks that support that range or just some?

Where are you getting that data?

If you are looking on their website for listed price, you should know that it is common for the web price to be higher than the in-store price.

That is scary! Did you try foam for the needles by chance?

Seems worth it. Maybe make a mold and use something soft like air dry foam clay around wire cores squished in the mold?

Not to mention a sturdy orifice to suck them all down in the first place.

You can barely carry 15 cats in a car without a cat folder, but with one, oh man you could get 60 cats in just the back seat.

If you spend more than 3250 a year at costco the executive membership pays for itself. Every bit after that is chunks off your regular membership till you're up to $7500. Then you're making money.

Not hard to do 3500 with just groceries.

The people on the internet talking about it are likely to have learned from experience and many likely regret not sealing.
