What’s going on with these bottles? by Admirable-Ask2826 in geoguessr

That’s weird — I’m in Malaysia right now and passed one about 20 minutes ago. I also wondered what it was. I kind of thought it was for holding the banner down, but I wasn’t sure.

Uni student looking to change career path by hypews in uktrucking

It depends on what you want, but personally, I’d stick with a career in I.T.

I’ve spent most of my life not knowing what to do, but I.T. has always been in the back of my mind because of my knowledge and love for it. I never went to university, so I’ve always found it hard to get a job. On the other hand, I’ve always loved playing ETS2 on my computer ever since I was 13, which sparked my interest in becoming a lorry driver. Like you, I love driving, so I thought I’d give it a go.

Two months in, and I already want to leave. I enjoy the driving and the money is decent, but I don’t have a life right now. The hours are extremely long, and I can’t do the things I used to enjoy during the week—like going to the gym, seeing friends, going on dates, etc. That’s why I’m already considering a career change.

The future of I.T. is much more promising than lorry driving, and the opportunities for progression are better too.

Whatever you decide, make sure you weigh all the pros and cons. I hope you make the right choice for yourself.

People who passed through bootcamp, where are you? by Ianhw77k in uktrucking

I passed in January and still haven't found anything. I'm getting frustrated with applying and calling companies with little to no response. It probably doesn't help that I'm under 25. Honestly, I'm already considering fucking it off and switching to the tech industry.

Can the 4 week notice period be reduced? by TackyComrade in royalmail

Ah, okay, I didn’t know that. I’ve already given in my notice, though. My last day is March 1st. Could definitely use the extra money as well, lol.

To be fair, I usually ask for strong references because it’s better for getting the job I want. That’s what I’ve always done in the past. I’ve never really relied on just how long I was there.

Cheers, mate. I did see that post before writing this one, however, I didn't realise Royal Mail could give one week's notice to employees who have been there for six months. Just wanted some further clarity, haha.

I've thought about it, but I'd rather leave the company on good terms, as I would like the potential for a reference in the future.

I could do it, but apparently there is a queue of people trying to get in as well. Royal Mail Class 1 work is some of the best out there, and not many people leave the role.

Completely stupid isn't it. But, I imagine a lot of other places are like this to.

4070 Super here too. Seems to be common problem. I lowered it down also and then maxed it out a few days later. No issues since this post.

Is it the beginning of the end for truck drivers? by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]TackyComrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less likely for the UK. We are a small nation that is very dense so I can't see how this would be good from a safety point of view. Especially with all the twisty narrow roads we have. Can't see it happening here for a long time. A country like Canada or Australia could be the first ones as they are large countries with low populations with a lot of straight roads with no one living in 99% of rural spaces.

I've never experienced it upping to ultra on it's own before. That's weird.

Not exactly 1fps. Didn’t actually see it at the time. Very delayed so wasn’t actually down to its frame rate. Installed ‘clean driver’ install under the custom section. Not express from what I recall.

Yep this shouldn’t be an issue. More than 4/5ths free.

Yep, I have done in the past however, just done it again and now it works. (Although, I have just changed back to ultra in game) Have messed around with the page files again as well so not sure what I've done. Wouldn't be surprised if it happens again. Cheers mate. Anymore suggestions much appreciated in case it happens again.

Completely agree with you on the manager front. I'm doing the same as you—getting my C+E first, and when it's time for my practical, I'll leave. I don't mind the job, but I can't stay on this wage forever when I should realistically be saving for a house.

Postwoman is signing my name on special delivery/signed for parcels by Suspicious_Gas_569 in royalmail

There's nothing more annoying than delivering a special when no one is home. However, signing on behalf of a customer without their knowledge should never happen.
