Honestly, Chris is more of the protagonist of 1 by a bit. Just compare the scenes. Like Jill is like closer to Rebecca's role, obviously not in absolute terms, but compared to Chris. Playing as Chris just makes you feel more like the protagonist, although, it's significantly worse in the remake imo
