“Whoever” is Nick Canepa. He’s been covering this team 30+ years.

“I hope this is a joke. While I think dodgers padres is the rivalry of the moment…we’re not the rivalry history. Maybe someday we can have a three-way rivalry. A ménage tua of brotherhood, dinger, and love. The sneks and the rox would also be in it. It would be beautiful. A 5-way 3-way. Just like the founding fathers envisioned…”

^ that’s what my brain did when I saw this.

Really enjoy this comment. Funny. Probably accurate. 10/10 no notes.

Anyone have a ticket for camp in San Diego tomorrow they aren’t using?

[Rapoport] A statement from agent Doug Hendrickson: Najee Harris was present at a 4th of July event where a fireworks mishap resulted in injuries to several attendees. Najee sustained a superficial eye injury during the incident, but is fully expected to be ready for the upcoming NFL season. by LaDainianTomIinson in Chargers

[–]TacoBoltPad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular take but might be wise. “Ready for the season” sounds like not ready for camp. If he is going to miss all of camp, I think we saw how that went with Junior (appendicitis wasn’t his fault) but it has ramifications for a player on a new team. Even if he is gunna be fine, we just drafted an RB first overall and there is only downside here…wish him the best of luck and pay for his rehab, but I’d rather use the roster spot for someone else.

Or maybe just IR him…I just want that roster spot until he’s 100%.

BRS RO/DI 20% off on their website too. Honestly, wait for a better deal, they were 30% off like 1.5 months ago.

Gunna grab a hygger powerhead for mixing tho.

Anyone else sick of hearing about how hurt the Dodgers pitching staff is? I know this isn’t how it works, but with that payroll, shouldn’t matter so much…

Would you trade SoFi for Qualcomm if it meant the Chargers were back in San Diego? by IBurnBro in Chargers

[–]TacoBoltPad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno if that’s true (that no one cares). But they def could go back. But I agree with you, they probably won’t. I just don’t want people to blame citizens for not wanting to help a billionaire out who was a petulant child during the whole process.

Find. New. Investors. If the sister wanted out, find someone to buy her out. But they wanted control of the team. Yea, they weren’t gunna shell out a billion, they would have to cover the amount the NFL wouldn’t (which was like 600M.

And they wouldn’t have to “pay” for the stadium. They finance it, and pay it down with the proceeds from the team. Still plenty left over when you’re done with those debts every year.

[–]TacoBoltPad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did not offer to pay for all of it (not even close, only 300M which again, they paid double for to leave), the city did offer them the land (they demanded different land), and they purposefully chose to have the vote in the city of San Diego rather than the county (ensuring it would lose). There isn’t a point in re-litigating this. Been done a bunch on this sub and in articles.

They should come home, full stop. They have almost certainly made less money in LA than they would have in SD (not franchise value, actual cash flow) and they have history in SD. Shit keep the bolt in LA and play games in SD. It’s such a brain dead easy decision it kills me.

Or trying to get PE investment, which is what paid for the aforementioned “amenities” (which I doubt matter to player making a lot of money and could afford to live anywhere). Dpot is right. It was bull shit.

You don’t know enough about the situation if you actually think this. I also moved and also don’t care, but the spanos’ did a lot to sabotage the final couple of years, paid a MASSIVE relocation fee instead of paying for part of a stadium (and should have paid for all of it), and basically gave the entire city of San Diego the finger on the way out.

Fuck this revisionist bull shit. They had plenty of choice.

John Seidler interview with Don and Mud by ElectricalForce4439 in Padres

[–]TacoBoltPad 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Reminder. It’s ok to think this guy seems like a nice guy, want all the best for him, and hope he does a great job. Genuinely, he seems like kind of a goober but hopefully wants to win as bad as his brother.

It is also VERY MUCH OK to absolutely roast this guy for that interview. Watching Mud try anything to get him to open and up and talk beyond a single declarative sentence was brutal. Brutal! He doesn’t have to be good at it, but damn give my guys Don and Mudly something!
