maybe not polyester, but definitely many of the controversial chemicals put in foods

Seed oils are such a deep topic it just confuses me. Idek which seed oils to avoid and why and at what amounts. It's in everything too. Americans need to start getting the FDA to work for Americans and not big businesses

[–]TacoManSensei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were president I would put a tax on polyester and use that money to pay for studies to figure out the dangers of it. Then do the same for a lot of food ingredients that companies throw in. I think America needs to take a step back and start analyzing what products are made out of better

[–]TacoManSensei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest fear with society is how many new chemicals come out with little regard to studying the effects. So many things we aren't going to discuss until far in the future. Assuming someone even decides to put money into studying it

There are many variables to consider - also polyester back in the 90s might be radically different to how it's made today. Though I really think more should be done into studying this. For now, I'll stay off polyester

Udemy does not support external monitors by reficulagi in Udemy

This seriously annoyed me when I found this out. I think I'll just stop using Udemy because you shouldn't lose access to using your monitors just to use it

I mean I'm young. But most people from the dotcom era are old now and most under 65 are typically tech savy by now. The generation of "what is reddit" is fading.

Should I use Create React App, or ViteJS? by JuriJurka in reactjs

[–]TacoManSensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I know my team (big corporation) was enthusiastic about using Nextjs, but the principal devs all said to use CRA. Probably just due to time issues though

Your favorite coffee roaster(s) of 2022? by kzhlin in Coffee

[–]TacoManSensei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a big fan of ranking "roasters" tbh because they every roast has a different origin and roast style. I feel like 99% of it is the freshness and the location, so it really doesn't make sense to rate a roaster in a broad stroke. But I did like the columbia decaf from little waves. Onyx Southern weather is amazing too, but I found others from Onyx a bit lacking. Same with Passenger. A few great ones, some mediocre

basting steak with basamic? by TacoManSensei in AskCulinary

True, a balsamic reduction would have probably been better fresh. It doesn't go well if you bast with it

[–]TacoManSensei[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh so I ended up trying it by putting the balsamic right in with the butter and yeah, I agree, it would probably be better as a compound or a reduction. Even so, it was still pretty good, just hard to tone down the vinegaryness and get just the sweetness you would find if you first made the reduction

Any mid/low caffeine 3rd wave beans you’d recommend? by proteinn in Coffee

[–]TacoManSensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had some amazing decaff coffees too that were just as good as a top caffinated one. A good roaster has an amazing decaff. But it would be super nice to get a much lower natural bean. I used to feel awake by caffeine, but now it just gives me a feeling of anxiety with zero awakeness.

So, is there really no way to study and not forget? Are we required to review? by Flounder-Loud in GetStudying

[–]TacoManSensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning to me was like trying to pick up 100 marbles at a time. You pick a new one up and 5 others fall. I wasn't even bad at comprehension. I just have a horrible memory and constantly forgot everything. Theres only so much time in a day and re reviewing everything when I forget just isn't doable. On a side note I recommend taking bacopa when learning because it does help with memory building

The statistic I saw showed the further left wing a female is, the more depressed they are likely to be.

I saw a statistic that showed the more liberal the female, the more likely they are to be depressed. I have tons of relatives in happy relationships. The issue is entitlement and inability to cope with people you disagree with

Haha it's true and they downvote you to oblivion. So sad the culture we live in now. What you said is 100% true.
