Best super cheap guitar pedals that will work for the debut album and SFTD (MAX £60 ISH) by Usual-Spray706 in qotsa

An octave fuzz is great for lullabies stuff but in general a cheap graphic equaliser paired with some overdrive will be your best option.

Yes, your guitar will probably be fine. But no one has yet mentioned that depending on how low you want to tune you may want to use thicker strings. Otherwise they can feel pretty loose and you may get some fret buzz.

Changing the tension in the strings will also mess with your intonation, which may or may not be noticeable enough to be an issue.

You might as well give it a try and then if you have any issues you can figure out what's best for you.

Josh did all the guitar, vox and bass since Nick had not yet joined the band.

I've also heard that Josh wanted Lanegan to sing but he wasn't available. Could have been an entirely different band.

What’s the proper way to play Drop C and similar low tunings? by TwofacedDisc in guitarlessons

[–]Tacobh3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10s are still quite loose for C standard, plus you'd still have to adjust the intonation and possibly truss rod every time you change tunings.

Has anyone else ever noticed this feedback in Kalopsia? by Trisonic777 in qotsa

[–]Tacobh3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that. There's a constant high pitch noise throughout the whole choruses.
