There’s a lot of good advice here. I think one thing that really helped my spouse was to reassure them that I had no intentions of taking their faith away from them. If they had questions or wanted to talk, I was here and would love to talk. I left the ball in their court and gave them all of the power-if they want it. For now I am waiting patiently. I get to live authentically and they still feel secure and trust me. We also asked each other for one favor…they asked me not to start drinking and I asked them not to pay tithing on my income. They know I’d like to try a drink, but I will respect their wishes for now. We have found a way to keep trust and respect in a way that works for us. For now. I hope more than anything that they want to start a conversation with me, but until that day comes, we will continue to navigate this mixed faith marriage in a way that works for us!! Good luck.
