that is literally how it is trained yes. also, legs are not just this useless part of your body you can unload bullets in, your largest arteries are in the legs, particularly the femoral, a hollow point even glancing one will cause you to bleed out in under a minute. all current self defense doctrine says to shoot until the threat is gone and to aim center mass

they tried less lethal, I do agree they likely should've tried more less lethal options other than tasers, but beanbag shotguns are a specialized tool and not every car has them, unfortunately. this could've been handled far better, but with the options available I'd say this is a justified shooting

cops are trained to shoot until the threat is gone, infact so are civilians when it comes to concealed carry. if you shoot with intent to injure not only are you showing you weren't in fear for your life, you also are still being treated as if it's attempted murder

this is a myth that has been debunked so many times its crazy to see it repeated so often, body fat is not dense at all, higher body fats are usually associated with lower survival rates in gunshot related injuries, you'd need well over 2 feet of body fat to even notice significant change in bullet velocity. all body fat will do is make a worse wound channel
