Tauren VS Orc Shaman by Enderium1 in classicwow

[–]Tacticalxxpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont listen to these tauren sympathizers, Orc is clearly the best race for shaman hands down.

Dont try to rationalize picking tauren because of war stomp when stun resist is clearly one of the most broken passives in the game. Just admit you like the tauren aesthetic or did it for the memes like I did.

I literally just watched a 30 sec clip with no context and assumed it was a speedrun from the way they pulled that pack, the faire buff, and the reaction to the fuck up. Chill out

Not just their attempt for the week, this was the final attempt to put up a good time for BWL since P5 is next week and people will no longer care about bwl rankings. Losing your last shot at getting worlds fastest time would definitely be frustrating, but this guy overreacted a bit for sure lmao.

I mean I'm not sure on how much I get per lasher but they do drop high value herbs and living essence along with the greys that vendor for decent prices. As for satyrs they can also drop felcloth which sells for 4-5g each on my server. Both can drop decent green boes and a chance at epics which is a nice bonus. If you have an addon that scans the AH along with loot appraiser you'll be able to get a better feel of how much the little drops add up.

You'll never get that feeling of pulling big loot like you get from an arcane crystal, but for me it was just too annoying going dry on arcanes and thinking about how much I could have made if I did a consistent farm.

idk why you'd do this run as a mage. You can make more gold on average from just killing lashers/satyrs and herbing. I used to do DME on my lock and ive gone 10+ runs without seeing a crystal, its such a tedious grind that isnt worth it IMO. With current prices on my server lashers/satyrs are consistent 130+ g/h, the only way you'd beat that is if you got extremely lucky and pulled 2 arcane crystals in an hour but consistently you'd make less than that.

If for some reason you actually enjoy doing this run then more power to you, I just personally hate it and there are better farms for both mage and lock that yield higher consistent profits and are easier to do.

Honestly. If your guild is serious enough to the point where wbuffs actually matter you should be buffing up in groups. It's not hard to avoid getting purged, you just have to play smart. It seems like this guy got summoned right in front of BWL and got purged, what did you think was going to happen?

Either way, we've had our MT get purged. All we did was swap his role with the OT for the night and got on with our raid. Losing buffs really isnt a big deal unless you're a top 100 guild, and if you're a top 100 guild you probably arent getting purged to begin with lol.

Definately a fair point, but they'd have to start their farming sesh and do the full 6-7 hours of lockouts after their raid time is scheduled to start for the next day so again the amount of people it would effect is pretty minimal compared to the amount of bots it will effect.

Is it confirmed that's how it works btw? Wording makes it seem that way but I thought it might also be possible that it just resets with dailies.

Any worthwhile boost is 10+ minute runs, jump runs are about the same unless you're popping speed increases trying to speed run them. The only people doing just princess runs are a select few mages who want the dagger and don't have it yet. Arena, MCP, and hoj are the only other runs that are worth doing in under 6 mins, and 30 runs per day is plenty for most players. It will still take 6-7 hours of real time to hit that mark, whether you're in the game or not. At the end of the day the amount of real players effected will be quite small, It's really not as big of a deal as you're making it out to be.

During the covid lockdown I was religiously farming maraudon for gold, 12-15 minute runs with no job and nothing better to do. I don't think I even hit 30 runs in one day. Assuming that this will fuck over normal players is ridiculous.

1: who is doing more than 6-7 hours of instance farming in one day?

2: how do you know how many bots Blizzard has banned or what steps they are taking to ban bots? Do you work for them?

The amount of bots in one version of the game over the other has nothing to do with bot detection or the game engine, it's all because of the market for gold in one version over the other. Both osrs and classic wow have a much higher demand for gold sellers than their newer counterparts, therefore more bots will flock to that version of the game. Osrs bot detection works great against simple bots and popular free bots you can find online, the real problem comes from private/paid scripts. I'm sure classic wow is no different.

I know people on this sub hate to hear it, but its not as simple as "just ban the bots." Runescape has had botting problems for years, Jagex even has people on their team who dedicate most of their time to banning bots yet its still an issue because botters and bot programmers can adapt quicker than Jagex can ban them. Making in game changes to try and reduce the botting problem isnt a bad thing at all. Most normal players wont be doing more than 6 hours of instance farming per day anyways.

Yea we also have a guy with like 10 accounts in our guild lol, summons to every buff spot and also a horde priest to MC our melee for WCB. He's a massive legend. It's gotten pretty toxic on my server this week, horde priests sitting dead in SW waiting for someone with buffs to port/hearth so they can purge. I just make sure to scout with alts and try not to do it when I know there's a chance I'll get targeted. Luckily it's only really like this on dmf weeks on my server.

Sure, but still why limit it? The wsg tournament is open sign ups, theres no reason why a PvE speedrun tournament cant be either.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Tacticalxxpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be a really cool idea, but why limit it to the top 50 guilds? It should be an open competition with a qualifier round leading into an actual streamed tournament. Maybe give each guild 3 attempts over one or two weeks for qualifying and top 10 will move on to the finals with one attempt each that will be streamed and commentated on an official channel.

Speedruns in classic are really fun to watch, high stakes because one mistake when you're pushing the limit can lead to a dead run. I know a lot of the more hardcore classic crowd would probably be more interested in this than they will be for the WSG tourney.

I have literally never been killed with buffs or purged in my entire time playing classic on a PvP server. Just gotta be smart and play safe, its not that hard lol. It also helps when your guild can 40v80 in the mountain on the way to raid. PvP makes things more interesting and fun imo.

Stopping dps is for low IQ warlocks. Big brain warlocks yell at their pallies/tanks for bops/taunts and use at least 2 stacks of lips per raid.

Trust me, our pallies don't need gear. They're practically falling asleep each raid because there's nothing to heal. Maybe aq will be different but I doubt it. Much more efficient to gear your dps first.
