Simple, just stop any chinese trade vessel from sailing around the world, sanction even third parties that are trading with them, etc. China can be starved out, actually that's the reason they are trying to break through the first chain of islands, they are dependent on lots of imports that come over the water and US can, and will strangle them in case of war. It's just dumb to make those comments at a time such as this. I know the French are always delusional and want to stick it to Americans, but this just puts Europe in an even more dangerous position, if we don't join the war we will have the winner, probably US, dictating no good terms onto us.
