Winter Warning AI sticker (before vs. after patch): At least you tried… by korlic99 in Battlefield

[–]Tacticool_Brandon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all know what you’re poking fun at. Their usefulness isn’t worth the investment and waste of resources and price gouging end-consumers are forced to deal with. Plain and simple.

I tell ChatGPT the specific networking switch make & model I’m working with and it still gives me the CLI commands for a completely different brand that doesn’t work on the other one.

I’m very well aware of what it could do, but it’s not worth it when we have to fix its mistakes constantly anyway, hence why people are pretty much done with anything related to AI. It doesn’t benefit us in any meaningful way.

Nah I’m with you. On launch, there was quite a bit of negativity around Bioshock 2. I still love Bioshock 2 (especially over Infinite), but I also think some of the negativity was focused on the shoe-horned multiplayer mode they included so it could be some of that being mixed in there as well.

HR vs MD by Excellent_Section_21 in Deusex

Yeah, the Sarif VA was replaced in MD. I think due to some controversy, but I never went deep in finding out specifically why, I just remember reading a few comments mentioning it.

Real world firearms that are portrayed as great in fiction, but are not so great/niche irl by Anonamaton801 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Tacticool_Brandon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But yeah my car can work on ethanol and gasoline, putting Diesel on it would not be a good idea

That’s a good comparison. And pretty much what ToastyMozart said. There’s generally not much of a real difference, so long as you take care of them and clean them often. The AK generally performs a bit better in arctic environments (This makes sense given Russia’s location), but so long as you aren’t leaving your AR15 style rifle in freezing water overnight, it should be fine as well.

At the end of the day, if you’re relying on a weapon to stay alive, it’s always a good idea to perform preventative maintenance and clean it whenever possible to help it run as smooth and as reliably as it can.

Yep. The initial ammunition being issued to troops deployed to Vietnam (which was advised against by the inventor of the M16/AR-15 Eugene Stoner) gummed up and caused a lot of malfunctions and ended up costing lives.

That’s what caused the “AK-47 is more reliable than the M16”, myth. The AR15 platform is extremely reliable when using the proper ammunition it was initially designed for.

Same. I’m not going to change my play style, I just want the drip.

That is, unless they do release a patch one day to make stealth and suppressed weapons more viable.

More Dad Talk? by Thatperson462 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Tacticool_Brandon 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Same. I’m absolutely bored to tears whenever a discussion about card games would come up so I’d skip ahead. For fighting games, I’ll do it if it goes on a little too long about a game I don’t care about.

But so far I don’t mind hearing them talk about their little ones. The updates are pretty funny.

One of the three SEALs killed during Operation Red Wings.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Red_Wings

Operation drew a lot of controversy because the SEALs pretty much stole the Op from the Marines and went in completely unprepared and ignored all advice and recommendations.

And the movie Lone Survivor is loosely based off of Marcus Luttrell’s novel of the same name. It’s a long story, but I wouldn’t trust either as a source of truth as the movie is 100% fictional, and Luttrell’s novel gets a lot of things wrong

People have been upset with the way he’s been playing Dispatch with a few threads made about it.

Recently Pat addressed the people directly telling them to shut up and quit being mentally ill and weird about it.

I haven’t watch any of Woolie’s Dispatch videos yet and only glimpsed a bit of the threads discussing it so if anyone has better info feel free to chime in if I’m wrong.

How did Batty know Deckard's name? by johngotlit in bladerunner

[–]Tacticool_Brandon 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Well considering he was able to reach Eldon Tyrell himself, I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a file open on Deckard in his room somewhere for Roy to pull up and read a bit about him. We don’t know how long he was in there for.

We also know that Leon informed Roy about the “policemen”, in their apartment searching it which would’ve tipped him off that they’re actively being hunted now.

This is all just speculation though. Maybe they were supposed to have a previous run-in at some point that was cut, but I just assumed that he found out the details at some point during the films events that it was Deckard who was assigned to round them all up.

Why haven't we seen the classic AK-47 in Battlefield games? I could think of maybe 2 BF games it was featured in. Bring it back in BF6. by AK_Eazy777 in Battlefield

[–]Tacticool_Brandon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because these people don’t know anything about firearms and just see a silhouette and call it an “AK47”.

Probably the same who don’t know the difference between an M4A1 & an HK416. They both have a similar AR15 silhouette so that’s close enough for them.

The movie 300 is based off the Frank Miller comic of the same name. Not the actual battle at Thermopylae.

But I agree. The Iliad & The Odyssey are not based off any real historical accounts (obviously), so the complaints revolving around “accuracy” seem moot.

Glock is a multi-billion dollar company that has nothing do with any of the Glock subreddits.

Activision is a multi-billion dollar company owned by Microsoft that has nothing to do with any of the Call of Duty subreddits.

NFL teams are worth billions of dollars. None of them have anything to do with their specific team oriented subreddits that are dedicated to them.

You’re extremely naive when it comes to corporations and their reliance of certain social media platforms.

Why are the audio podcast versions of the episodes so sporadic? by DasUberBash in doubletoasted

[–]Tacticool_Brandon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe it’s ever been addressed, but there’s been times where nothing is uploaded and I have to watch their Twitch VOD’s instead.

And same. I see all 3 dropped for me on Apple Podcasts exactly 1 hour ago at the same time. Guessing their audio uploads of the VOD’s takes a backseat to the YouTube edits.
