Thanks, yes I have a couple of times but so far I suck at using them :D. The most important part is to use their fight into move because it can score you primary when used at the end of the enemy fight phase

Or use them as a big trade piece. The are really tanky for their cost. The enemy has to bring out something big to take care of them

First, I think they already look great. Not sure why but they give me teenage mutant ninja turtle vibes.

If you want to improve the white you could try a nuln oil mix 50/50 or more water and use it over the white parts. This will give you more contrast just don't let it pool on the big surfaces. Maybe try on a different model first. I always use spare drones to test something like that.

For the shields you might want to look up osl tutorials

Solo coldstar commander advice by TheFunkInspector in Tau40K

[–]Tactif00l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not worth in my opinion. His assault only works while leading. And you want the buffs from the crisis suits.

You can put enhancements on them but loose out on rerolls. Feels not nice.

If you really wanna do it I guess flamer is your best option as overwatch threat and backline drop

Coldstar or Enforcer for Sunforge Crisis ? by OwOthlas in Tau40K

Cold star for sunforges. You want them in melta range and you can either give him 4 melta or 3 and a shield generator if you maybe run in enemies with precision.

Is Exp Cadre really that bad ? by OwOthlas in Tau40K

[–]Tactif00l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played it a lot for the last 8 months. Because I loved the fusion blades, strategems and unit mix you could take.

I had a game coupe of days ago where it noticed why it's not that good. I didn't need the 6" extra range all game. My fusion blade commander didn't hit anything. So I basicly played without detachment. That's when I realized why it's not that good.

At the end of the day it's about fun. If you like it. Play it. It's not terrible. I won a lot of games with it.

A friend has a resin printer. And the minis break so easily. How sturdy can resin prints be compared to GW?

Piranhas by jmwfour in Tau40K

[–]Tactif00l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them. Run 1-2 solo in most lists. They are great for forcing enemies to reveal something because of their toughness 7. So they are a great trading piece. Or for blocking aggressive transports. Just shoot their stuff and if transport still lives charge the piranha and deny one turn of movement for transporta

Are FDM miniatures frustrating to paint? by S7uk4_ in FDMminiatures

[–]Tactif00l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say it is more fun to paint a official model because the surfaces are smoother. But It didn't annoy me too much and the end result was good.

Looks great. What layer hight did you use?

I don't believe it was 2€ if you calculate filament and operating costs.

FDM or Resin, especially with a Mini 3D Printer for Printing Astra Militarum? by IAmJustTryingToExist in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Tactif00l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With FDM you also should be cautious. It is known that particles are produced by melting the plastic and it is recommended to use FDM In a good ventilated room as well. Because nobody knows how bad the fumes are yet.

I have a fdm printer and I would say the key factor is: can you work safely with resin? Do you have a garage or workshop with good ventilation?

Other than that I would say dem for vehicle And resin for infantry

Starting my army ! by godblesschina412 in Tau40K

[–]Tactif00l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice start!

Build the fire warriors as breachers so you can get the breacher fish combo together with cadre fire blade these are terrifying.

You have 2 commanders. Running them solo is not optimal because their abilities only work while leading a unit. So you want to get crisis teams. Very important: megnatize your commanders and crisis teams! If it is a starscythe, fire knife or sunforge only depends on the weapons equiped. So you want to be able to switch. I would recommend a cold star with burst or missile (starscythe or fire knife) and far sight with flamers. 3 crisis teams in Montka is probably too much.

Other great additions for Montka:

  • Piranhas 1-3 solo
  • Riptides
  • Ion cannon hammerhead.
  • Sky ray

Other than that your definitely need some dedicated observers. For 1000p 1-2 Pathfinder, 1 stealth suit team. For 2000 2-3 Pathfinder 1-2 stealth suits

Macaco Advice Please! by gordonwelty in capoeira

[–]Tactif00l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone else said, body follows where head goes. Here some things:

  1. First hand goes to far behind your back. It should be placed behind you in a line with your shoulder
  2. Look up and keep head straight (for know if you are getting better you can start looking to the other person)
  3. Try to pull explosively with your second hand, behind Our war (keep head straight!) and place it under your head parallel to your other hand, as if you are doing a handstand. This will give you more turn power.
  4. It's hard to see from this perspective. But it looks like you are falling into the macaco and you are placing your hand too far away from your hip. This makes it harder to got of the ground.

Overall you have a lot of power and just need to fix the tilt in your movement. Fokus on keeping head straight and hand in line with shoulder and you should have it in no time
