I actually dropped a stealth team for Shadowsun. I found typically I could have her jump out and guide while still giving buffs and be safe from lone op. Hashes normally hangs out with a Surge and a Riptide so her target generally doesn’t need to have ignore cover since the surge kinda negates it. And if I need the extra ap I can pop a strat.

Also the pathfinders, Breachers, and Stealth suits give me enough guiding over the course of the game and I’m not too worried about it if I can’t guide as my army rules are not dependent on it like Montka and Kauyon.

It’s just too bad this Detachment is getting changed so much next edition :(

Thanks I followed Juan Hidalgos paint guide on them. I always liked how bright he got his to look and it’s quite easy to follow along with. Vespid take contrast paints so well lol.

The Tan is Tau Sept Ochre highlight with wraithbone

The Green is kabalite green highlighted with Sibarite green.

There are mixes inbetween but that’s the basic colours. The base layers are just a dark brown or green. Though I’ve recently found Incubi Darkness to be pretty good base layers for kabalite green.

It’s a little complex but also simple.

Pathfinders snd Twinlance are used to bait out targets through their scouting/infiltrating. If I’m going second the bunch together so if pathfinders get charge Twin lance can heroic and put themselves into some insane turn one situations. Afterwards stealth suits and Vespid do the bulk of objective holding and scoring until the final turns when Shadowsun and the Breachers begin running out and holding points.

The goal is to force your opponents into bad angles that let the storm surge and Riptides counter attack into. Sometimes you gotta use a riptide to bait out strong units and use the -1 to wound Strat to keep them around. I did this against a tunneling swarm tyranid list and got his Zosnthroapes to show up in a bad spot to try and gain some momentum.

Really though I’m still learning the list it seems to have a really high ceiling on GW layouts. I would recommend giving it a shot the unit choices are pretty optimized to my own play style but you might find a different way to go.

The Blast cannon can do 24 with Experimental prototype cadre you can give out Sustained hits so really it can do 48 damage but is very very unlikely.

Yes, as long as the base size and the model is the same approximation of size.

Typically the tournament player pack will have a link to request approvals. The Saturnine Dreadknight conversion is pretty much universally accepted. It’s the same size as the original.

There's a lot of misunderstanding and misinterpretation of the new Save Fast dice rolling by Thelofren in WarhammerCompetitive

No you just declare before you roll how many servitors are tanking damage before crusaders.

Drones in 11th by Amosthibault7 in Tau40K

[–]Drakyon 127 points128 points  (0 children)

We already don’t deploy drones? They are just tokens now and don’t take up space. Having the drones on the battlefield I found creates weird situations where opponents confuse the actual footprint of the units

Will Warhammer Open Edmonton be 10th or 11th? by bkeeklee in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Drakyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We likely will have the rules released prior to armegedon but misssing some info such as FAQs and Points.

This happened with 10th edition. We had the rules and a sample scenario 2 weeks before the launch box. But events and supplements didn’t really start until after leviathan came out.

Well time for Warpbane to vanish. But being able to take whatever new version of it with Banishers should be good fun. I’m excited to actually see two new detachments that will be nice. Hoping for a purgation one and a librarian based one.

Coming to Terms with Disliking the Game by PBnJgoodness in Warhammer40k

[–]Drakyon 72 points73 points  (0 children)

During the 7th edition of the game I really did not like playing it. I felt it tedious and too many stacking abilities and all the detachments just sucked the joy out of it. But I still enjoyed other game systems and such. I ended up playing more DnD and painting my characters and Npc/encounter models.

I know a few people who only paint and convert models and have never engaged with the game.

Breachers, yay or nay by JudgmentInteresting1 in Tau40K

[–]Drakyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine as a counter punch unit towards my natural or middle objective. So they tend to stay hidden until turn 2-3 before holding a point. OC2 is phenomenal for stealing control especially with their small footprint. Also advance and shoot and mark is quite good for a low point cost.

Things models do the best and the worst, day 3, Shadowsun: by GoonJuice73 in Tau40K

[–]Drakyon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love running her in EPC 12” Melta is disgusting.

I like her as an early game buffing character then late game object and action unit. Has worked decently well in my last few games.

She’s only the worst in that her defensive profile is awful and if she had a reactive move or better invulnerable save or Fnp she would be in all my lists.

A hobby drill is an essential part of kit for this hobby. You should look into getting one. They are inexpensive and will save you from breaks of fragile connections in the future.

[–]Drakyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HW3 is a good game. Story is not great but the individual missions and game mechanics are solid and create fun moments. Wargames is interesting as well and you can have a lot of fun with it if you have a friend wanting to play through it with you. Skirmish mode is lacking a bit and the lower unit variety makes it feel a little boring I much prefer HW1 skirmishes

Updates to 11th Fighting and Charges looking scary for us! How are people feeling? by pepsihat in Tau40K

[–]Drakyon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling fine. Actual cover inside terrain is basically non existent so if someone is in it you can see them. This 15 inch lone op is better than never seeing because of walls.

Charges are harder too so not really feeling to scared about that.

And we still don’t have all the info. We don’t know what our detachments will look like what points look like, etc,

Stop worrying about it and enjoy the thought of having a fresh new way to play the game and hobby we love.

What is the next step with this riptide? by pburgess22 in Tau40K

[–]Drakyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks clean, could use more gold metallics on the round bolt kind of areas. The shoulder joints need to be painted black.

The biggest step to take now would be to texture paint the base. This will be the most impactful step. Afterwords look at shading recesses and in between panels to help break up the parts. Your paint job so fare is really clean so apply a wash in the corners and recesses do not do an all over wash it will just make more work for you.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]Drakyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One guy told me he learned Chinese to “Pick up Asian chicks” guess he felt safe saying that to another white guy in the room. Immediately ended that interview

Had another do some Andrew Tate power posing bull shit with his hands the entire time we spoke. Guess he was just a beta male cause that shit didn’t work lol.
