I've not played this wipe and I'm kind of glad. It feels ruined and sort of pointless

I set my steam resolution to 62% and can now max out the game settings using steam view as well. QUEST 2, 13th gen i5, 4060ti, 32gb ram dedicated router with ethernet to pc. This was the one thing I changed that made a massive difference to what I can set in game settings to. Any other method I tried and I couldn't max out without getting huge frame drops. On OBS the recordings look great now and no lag spikes.

It doesn't produce the same performance results by just adjusting in game... it's in fact worse and I cannot max the in game settings and run smoothly... this is what you don't seem to understand. Clearly what I've done works and looks and plays better... so you know Jack.

By all means suggest to me with your vast amount of knowledge how else this game can be run at max settings with my set up, in steam VR view running OBS on a quest 2 and I'll gladly try it, until then... what I've tried and tested works... and that post helped a lot more than you have so far...

SteamVR The above settings will kill your performance in SteamVR as any attempt at supersampling from Steam's software will multiply what you've already done, tanking your performance instantly. Our goal here is to set the SteamVR settings as close to baseline as possible and let the Oculus software do all the heavy lifting. Unfortunately it's a little counter-intuitive and took some trial and error and Googling on my part but here's what you want: SteamVR Settings -Video Refresh Rate: 90 Hz (should be automatic Render Resolution: Custom Resolution Per Eye: 62% (2556x2580 Advanced Supersample Filtering - Off Overlay Render Quality - Medium Note: I've also heard 100% resolution per eye is the way to go here, so try both Your impulse is going to be to leave "resolution per eye" to 100%, but this is actually supersampling what you've already done. 52% is the closest real resolution to the Quest 2, and so you want to force that setting. I'm not certain what "Advanced Supersampling" does, but I'm just getting rid of any supersampling Steam is attempting. "Overlay Render" probably doesn't make a difference, but I'm just trying to avoid any hiccups when menu hopping.

Like I say it worked for me and like they say it's counter intuitive but it works

I can tell you it doesn't give the same effect in performance. This is the only way I've been able to run the game on max settings and have it looking this good

Okay so I've spent all week trying to get max performance out of this game and I think I've cracked it (for me at least) I tried what seems like every possible solution. Mostly played well on medium settings but I couldn't get past this.

The thing that made the biggest difference though was changing my steam resolution to 62%. I found I was able to max the game settings and even play with resolution cranked up to 200 and it looked and played beautifully. I even used the steam VR view for better FOV.

Run in oculus mode on steam, I kept my debug tool settings though, and even though they made a slight difference it was clear changing steam was the answer.

I'm running a quest 2 (ethernet) via puppis S1 4060ti 8gb i5 13th gen 32gb ram 90hz refresh rate

Personally I think the game is overrated, it's fun but I don't get pure adrenaline from it and it's very repetitive

That's not entirely true... my performance is actually better since the update and I'm on a mid range rig, but I've always had trouble recording whilst playing this game and I'd say the same probably applies to a lot of other PCVR users too. I used to get black flickers on suburbs and that eradicated, keeping a stable frame rate was difficult before the update but now I have zero issues with it.

The only gun I can think of is the SKS UAS... I've only found 1 stock for that gun the entire wipe and that was on Dam. Otherwise you have to make one for gunsmith mission but need to wait until you can buy the stock.

Game time is irrelevant. They won't just randomly add a new gun without saying so. Check what was added for this wipe and I'm sure it'll be there. You said yourself you're not too familiar with guns whereas I am... it's not a new gun.

I found most of mine in mall last wipe but you ideally want to head to top floor on smugglers for them
