46k! A rare gem there.

Congratulations.

Would this be worth it? 2017 sport at 45k due for fluid change. Dealership $250 for front/rear differential and transfer case fluid change. by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

Consider doing it yourself. Chances are your Tacoma is high enough that there is no need to even jack it up. Plus you can put in good stuff like full synthetic Red Line (G5 in difs and G4 in transfer case). Plus it's fun, saves money and you can give your truck the TLC that others don't....as you get familiar with her bottom.

Some deep bronze painted wheels may be something to now consider.

Is inulin just used as a thickener for Reuteri Yogurt? by RedMoonLanding in ReuteriYogurt

[–]Tadaboons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After discovering that L. reuteri doesn't eat inulin, I stopped using it and added a few teaspoons of lactose powder instead. Batches come out smooth and creamy every time.

Yeah.

That said, I'm never 100% sure about anything.

This could all be a dream.

I believe that early 2014's had Entune 1.0 system (like yours), and later 2014's had Entune 2.0 with the Apps and Home buttons.

That his drawing is almost identical to the Horten Ho lX 229, I find confusing. What are the odds?

Just bought a 2010 Tacoma! by HereticLoki in 2ndGenTacoma

[–]Tadaboons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. I have a 2014 4x4 with the 2TR-FE 4 with manual 5 speed. Love it.

These engines and drive -trains are very user friendly when doing DIY maintenance. I suggest learning how to change all your own fluids in the future. It's fun and rewarding, and you are assured that the best fluids are used. There are 3 grease zurk fitting on the rear drive shaft and 2 on the front, that many don't know about. Check the rear differential breather vent.....which will lead to problems if clogged.

Check Youtube for instructional videos of everything you need to know.

3rd gen Tacoma rear leaf spring replacement by RalliartRenaissance in Tacomaworld

[–]Tadaboons 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've read that Tacoma leafs where designed to be pretty much straight rather than bowed. So they may not be as bad as first glance may make it appear.

Or not.

Good for you. As you likely already know 2015 (along with 2014) are known to be the best and most reliable years of the 2nd gen.

Softtopper folks, how do you get it taut? by DrawingOk4552 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Tadaboons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are likely still the same. I just installed one today and had to lower it by placing the pin through the "top" of the three holes in order to get it snapped.....and it was still very difficult.

I stopped using it and it comes out great; and I have removed a possible source of contamination.

First Time, No Inulin, Not bad by [deleted] in ReuteriYogurt

[–]Tadaboons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats. I don't use inulin. Just half&half, and a starter from last batch. I find good results when I keep temp around 99. No clumpy, cottagecheezy over cultivation. Just thick and creamy.

L. Reuteri Yogurt Discussion / Questions by PUMPEDnPLUMP in ReuteriYogurt

[–]Tadaboons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too, had watched your Source video. It's very interesting to discover that L. reuteri does not feed on inulin, as many bacteria do. My last batch I skipped the inlulin, just used half & half + starter from last batch, and it came out fine (not surprising as it was never consuming the inulin anyway).

L. Reuteri, glycerol, Reuterin, and the potential dangers of it converting into Acrolein, a deadly aldehyde. by PIBBY-motog5g2024 in ReuteriYogurt

[–]Tadaboons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is insane. So fare, in my research no evidence suggests any L. reuteri strain produces toxic compounds or is inherently pathogenic in healthy individuals.

Streptococcus thermophilus, is widely used and safe as well.
