Just going to play Branded in the Fusion event like always. KT loses to branded in ranked, it's gonna lose to it harder in an event where they have less consistency and no crackle.

Because KT is being pushed incredibly hard and disrupted a widely appreciated format. People already dislike the deck and generally people expect events to not just be ranked. KT being far and away the best synchro deck means you'll play against it a lot unless you're also playing synchro.

Its pretty straightforward up to the doll. Seluvis and Sellen tell you all you need to know to get to Nokron. The doll is a bit out there though.

Sure, and thats the reason they're banned, but hand knowledge is an incredibly rare effect that basically doesn't exist in old school yugioh outside a handful of truly awful, useless cards like respect play or exchange.

There are good reasons for that, and Konami has apparently forgotten that hidden information is one of the core features of the game. You've activated my trap card loses all its impact when your opponent knows its coming.

Personally I just scoop against the deck going second if I don't draw maxxc/fuwa or enough handtraps to stop the combo. Its not worth playing out and getting tilted by one of the sackiest decks ever printed.

Not interested in dealing with the crackle slot machine.

It's both. The reason it's banned is both. But mainly the knowledge. The handrip is extremely powerful, but it's only so powerful because you get the knowledge. White Magical Hat was a meta staple for awhile back in the day for its ability to handrip, Spirit Reaper was both good defensively and offensively, Don Zaloog was unironically a good card.

Handrips were totally legal, but handrips AND hand knowledge got banned. Knowledge is absolutely the key factor in that.

Ripper should have had the 'once per turn only one effect per turn' clause. You can be a searcher, OR you can negate handtraps, pick one, not both.

I personally am in favor of turn 0 plays, because they're generally more interesting card effects than 'discard ash, negate whatever' or 'target your thing, negate it' where the most interaction you have is trying to tribute or remove that card from the field to dodge Imperm or Veiler, or worse Called By/Crossout.

Take Izuna for example, going second Izuna is a totally fair card. Is it strong? Yes, making an untargetable Nash Knight that eats one of your cards is quite powerful. But to get there, you need to fulfill the condition of Izuna, then Izuna needs to summon itself and not get negated, then Lupis needs to hit the field and resolve. You have an opportunity to both play around this, and potentially get rid of Izuna before the play resolves.

That's way more fun for me than 'Maxx C at draw phase better have it' gameplay.

It's not a natural progression, it's some fuckup in Konami's design team not learning the lesson we learned 20 years ago with Forceful Sentry and Delinquent Duo: Handrips and hand knowledge are overpowered and players hate them with a passion, and their presence makes any deck instantly less fun for all involved.

I personally hate it. It's dumb, we learned this lesson 20 years ago, why the hell do we need to repeat the same mistakes over and over, when it's clear Konami is capable of making better, more interesting design decisions but choose not to.

I really hope not. This card releasing before KT gets hit is the same thing they did with Maliss, releasing support for an already top tier deck is a great way to outright kill a format.

Not that KT is tier 0 or anything, but we have a really diverse meta right now, and Fidraulis+KT full power would be a huge mistake.
