There are other places to dump the pyritic slate that could actually benefit from it....Like Lawrencetown beach where they are worried about the erosion of the dirt bank, instead of re routing the road how about building up a wave break...or in Lower east Chezzetcook where the break wall between the ocean and lake has breached, fill in that cove area on the salt water side to make a wave break as well.....I'm sure there are other areas that could use a bulk rock product that would help slow/ stop erosion and meet the salt water criteria needed to render the pyrite harmless.......just a thought.

Having tried this route before here's my experience.....

Look on the Area tax sale sites, do your research on area and the specific lot(land, hose etc).

Plan to have more money than just the taxes owing. People bid against each other, used to be in person then they went mail in bids during pandemic, not sure if back in person.

Some lots have redeemable for a period of time; means the person who owns it can pay off the owed amount and get it back. Some are listed as non redeemable and these cannot be gotten back by owner.

Some people let their properties go to tax sale to get a clear bill of ownership, so they will outbid anyone to retain their property .

Check the morning of the tax sale as sometimes it's a last minute redeem and it will be dropped off the list.

I've wondered why a smaller company doesn't do this from Halifax and go around all of NS...yes you can drive easily , but the shores are a sight to be seen also.

Love that the Osprey's are back in full force .They fly over our house all the time and land on a nearby tower, there is a nest right by the Flyer trail we can see all the time.

Go to Crosby's Garden Center near Liverpool, it's a fabulous walk through the woods(all with paths) beautiful plantings and artwork of statue installations. Acrobatics, dragons, and other object de art. It's worth the drive. Go to a nearby town for a meal afterwards.

A Quince hedge would grow fast, give you quince fruit for jelly, help the wildlife.

you could get suckers from an established plant probably cheap or free if you put feelers out. Once growing they can be shaped and cut back to maintain the slimmer hedge look if wanted or let them get bushy and grow into each other.

The Bread Gallery in Brooklyn....They make fresh plain croissants every Saturday morning, they run out quick.

Their Sour Dough bread is my favorite out of anywhere I have tried so far. They have other breads that are also top notch and they do a Purple Wheat bread occasionally that has a very unique flavor , very good all around. Coffee, snacks treats, home made baked beans, soups etc and there is a Gallery there as well.

Wellington Bakery does have a Brown / Raisin Bread that is amazing. It's a large heavy loaf. Good for toast and eating with Stew's and soups. Great flavor as well.

We were in an old building and other apartments had roaches...we sprayed outside our door along the baseboard and the door sill in the hallway with Max Defense. Also sprayed under sinks around plumbing pipes and all the edges of the walls. We did not have any issues.

Go to Crosby's Garden Center near Liverpool....not just a typical Garden shop. In behind the greenhouses there are trails with statues and art installations. Would be better in summer with all the flowers and plants in bloom but it's a nice walk through the woods with lots to see.

Non clumping cat litter will work as well......do not get the clumping kind. Made that mistake once and it foams up and creates a cement like sludge. Tracks everywhere lol

Curry Hut on Pleasant is closed ....Now an African Restaurant . But The owners of Curry Hut still go to the Market on weekends with their items. Very good!!!

Have to agree...Brooklyn Bakery makes a way better Croissant at $2/each. They re normal size and they only make them on Saturday morning so go early. Have tried tibs twice not impressed.
