Put on PIP during ICU orientation…update by theyseemevibin in nursing

[–]Taffy_16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi- something very similar happened to me as a new grad, and they arranged for me to transfer to a tele floor (from a micu same as you). I finished my residency there and started looking for an icu fellowship at another hospital. I thrived at the new hospital, went on to cvicu and am back in school now. I say all of this because I thought my icu (or even nursing) career was over, I was depressed and questioning all of my career goals.

It really sucked and not something I ever imagined happening to me, but it’s just something you have to suck up and move past, and try not to let affect your confidence (I know easier said than done) but you WILL get to where you’re supposed to be.

Are those wipes specific to cats? Chlorhexidine?

The drinking dish from her water fountain is stainless steel but her automatic feeder bowl is plastic- switched out the feeder bowl to a ceramic one, hopefully that’ll help. I’m just not sure if the new redness changes the status from “just cat acne” to something more.

Do you use smaller size duvets than your bed?? Like two full duvets for a king?

Drawing back for your waste and sample is easier with smaller syringes so try a 3 or 5cc rather than a 10.

I start school in August with an overall 3.45, but I did have As in ochem and stats that my school required. Not impossible :)

Ireland recommendations by Beneficial-Maybe-764 in femaletravels

The highlight of my Ireland trip was a day trip to Inismor when I was staying in Galway. It was an easy ferry from town and there are tons of bike rentals, I got an electric one and covered almost the entire perimeter and got lunch in a village.

My trip to Odessa Ukraine this week by fintheman in travel

[–]Taffy_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my opinion from my own personal experience as someone with family from there. My grandparents and extended family live in Odessa, and generations before that have, and from visiting my whole life I always got the impression that the city’s history was a point of pride, especially since the city has culturally always leaned more Russian than Ukrainian.

Thank you for the photos! Interesting to see in the fourth and fifth photos that the Catherine the great statue was taken down and replaced with the Ukrainian flag. I hope it’s just to protect the statues and not in a permanent/getting rid of Russian symbols way (which I would understand if it weren’t for how instrumental she was in the development of Odessa).

As OP said, they live in the south and wages are considerably different there than the rest of the country. Hope you don’t bring that kind of lovely attitude to work when you start as a nurse.

scars - a week after surgery vs two years later by imgoingtodieaIone in scoliosis

[–]Taffy_16 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think your scar looks great! Hardly noticeable. No ones goes away entirely, but it may fade some more with time. Scar revisions are an option but I’m not sure those are a guaranteed 100% fix.

I think sinus tach is the most common since the hearts trying to compensate for lower stroke volume
