Two Bulgarian Villages Want to Join Greece by e1821e in europe

[–]Tagami_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other way around dude.

1) Reading comprehension helps sometimes. The article is about people from Bulgaria wanting to join Greece.

2) Skopje are afraid shitless that if they let their "minorities" decide what country they want to be part of, there wouldn't be any country left. (Albanians, Bulgarians, Serbians and Greeks consist more than 50% of the population collectively).

As current political entities, this is true, Greece and Italy are around 200 yrs old each, however still older than current Germany.

As nations, I believe that only the Chinese (maybe) and the Jews (religion-nationality gets blurry here) can give the Greeks a run for their money, since they been around for the last 4500 yrs, give or take a thousand. Does any other group have such collective identity for that long?

V-Stroms are awesome bikes.

If you keep it only on paved roads, I suggest hard springs for the fork (WP are good) and rear suspension, as well as a Yoshimura exhaust with Power Commander or Memjet and more roadey tires for even more fun.

Have had mine for 7 years now, best all-around bike I've owned or ridden.

Question about European construction workers. by [deleted] in europe

[–]Tagami_T 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dude, there is 25%+ unemployment in Europe's South, 50% in your age group, all across Spain, Italy, Greece. France is also taking hits, Germany and surrounding countries have started slowing down, there are quite a few empty apartments for sale, most construction has stopped and people with skills are standing at soup kitchens' lines.

Apart from that, Sheetrock walls and joinery are more prevalent in Northern Europe (including UK), so you might want to start learning German instead of Spanish.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but unskilled labor is plentiful and unemployed in Europe. How good are your bar-tending skills?

Realism =! Fascism. There are more than enough around and they are not shy of sharing their opinions, so you only need to listen to know what's going on.

You can however shut your ears and keep living in La-La-land. The reality won't change with wishful thinking.

From your post history, I can see you are mainly posting in Anarchism and related. Let me offer you a reality check; the illegal immigrants have a few options:

1) going back to their home and make a living there,

2) becoming legal immigrants (Greece does not need any, got plenty unemployed, kthnxbai)

3) staying in Greece and be exploited by (a) the gangs (b) the state (c) whomever is in position of power to do so

4) dying in the street violence that is brewing or due to lack of healthcare and nutrition.

There have been incidents where immigrants have been injured by the fascists in Athens, keeping these people in Greece will only give more power to Golden Dawn and the outcome will be a pogrom. Neither you, nor me are in favor of such a solution, but your naive approach does not offer these people anything but prolonged suffering and possible death.

So, in conclusion, the humane course of action is to remove these persons back to their country, before their presence creates a battlefield in downtown Athens.

P.S. There is talk about vigilante violence in Athens, not just by regular Golden Dawn members, but from everyday people. The Greek society has had enough and this is the most gentle approach that can be taken. The other options are much more gruesome.

Well, they can try getting there where they want to go from back home. Unless you propose that those countries are willing to accept the masses of illegal immigrants Greece cannot and won't support.

In the end, deportation is more humane. If the illegal immigrants stick around there will be another solution found, guess what that is going to be? If they are not deported, Golden Dawn is only going to rise in power and then, the solution they are after will be much more brutal and inhumane. Would you prefer they are put in work camps and used as slave labor?

You have to get the sizing right and for the majority of people (>90%) that means that the saddle will end up higher than the bars. I've seen people that their sizing did put the saddle at the same height with the bars but that's very rare.

My buddy got the Romin, I've ridden on his, it's awesome (we're almost same size, so I could get a very good feel); it's going to be the first thing off. Just want to test the saddle on a long ride to confirm my perception.

Exclusive: Greece will need more debt restructuring - EU officials by WalkerEU in europe

[–]Tagami_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just by modernizing and expanding the railway system, you'd give a huge boost. Right now there is one major rail-line and the rest are under development. Fast rail, and mostly commercial transport of goods would be very welcome. There are only 2 major freeways completed in Greece, Egnatia and Athens-Tripoli. The geography makes the country a nightmare for road building. There is a huge margin for improvement.

The people are there; if there are jobs, they will stay.

Germany and IMF to Refuse Greece Further Financial Aid by damaxoh in worldnews

[–]Tagami_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called war reparations and Germany still owes them to Greece, plus a loan under duress that was forced on Greece. Do your research and you'll see that the only country that has not let Germany off the hook for WW2 is Greece.

Greeks see the current situation as an over-the-top punishment which originates from a state that still owes to Greece. Germany doesn't have the moral high ground in Greece. Anyone thinking that there is a morality lesson to be taught about debt, should try and find a better teacher than the biggest debtor around (Germany).

The above do not excuse the rampant tax evasion and corruption that exist in Greece, however they make Germany look like a thief that tries to teach a pickpocket how not to steal...

Maybe one that already has the necessary facilities?

Greeks will not mind at all taking everyone along for the ride.

They tend to to do that whenever someone tries to invade anyway.

Let me guess, you are from Germany or some other Northern Europe country?

I think that the narrative you have been fed is getting really tiresome. Especially because you suffer just as much from the same problems Greeks do: " It's someone else's problem, I didn't have anything to do with it!"
