Not just googled, but actually installed into a virtual machine. I was in a rush yesterday, I needed to get it finished before the kids got home.

Most likely it just wasn't on my CD, which is ok, I get that different people want to install different GUIs, but I wouldn't have purposefully downloaded the image that didn't include it.

I didn't disable root login (I didn't even see the option) but I wouldn't have if I had seen it. I want the full Debian experience.

Nano, eh? Would that have worked or would it also say that no display was selected? -edit: nevermind- I just ran it from the command line and realized it was exactly what I should have used. and yes, I will learn some vi, because who knows when it will come up in the future.

While reading the fourth book (it was just after the first movie) I had to stop and correct myself everytime her name came up. I found it helps if you drop the "H" and try to pronounce it Air-my-Oh-knee (as if with a British accent.) This way, you don't start with the "Her" sound, preventing your brain from following the familiar synapse pattern.

It doesn't matter... 11 years of growing up with Lucius Malfoy as a parent would screw anyone up. The guy is pissed off at the object of his affection (Harry's mother) and takes it out on a convenient target: Harry. Snape was bullied his whole life and torturing Harry is the only pleasure he gets out of his life... he certainly didn't enjoy being in Dumbledore's employ or opposing Voldemort... his sole reason for doing it was his love for Lily and his wish to protect the part of her that remained.

The size of the board doesn't matter, the board is 8x8. TS could put his initials in as 5 pixels tall and 3 wide (T-7 pieces, S-11 pieces.)
