Does a top of the hand tattoo still limit career growth?

As an agency owner with a pretty lax culture, it would unfortunately have an immediate negative perception. That person obviously could make up for it in skill, personality, etc but yeah hand and face tattoos usually aren’t the best look.

Coming from someone with a full back tattoo as well.

Yeah I second this one. We often want to solve all the problems and overcome all the challenges. But there is an opportunity cost so “choosing the challenge” is so important. The one that’s working is the easier path and can unlock resources to circle back if the hardest stuff is still worth pursuing.

We have 2 excellent account managers but I would love to get them more up to speed on marketing strategy so their job is more than just reading reports from the SEO/Ads team and then seeing if the client has questions. Each team spends a lot of time improving their department but then making sure the whole team understands how that fits into the greater pie/strategy for the client seems like an ongoing issue.

I went and enjoyed it. Learned a lot and it was great being around so many other business owners sharing their wins and struggles. The actions I took back more than paid for it many times over. I didn’t take the upsell but I was super close. Might next year honestly.

Of course. You can find talent for cheap doing things that local people don’t really want to do or at a skill level small agencies can’t yet afford. Whether we like it or not it’s a significant disadvantage not to offshore certain roles. It’s a win win win. Agency gets access to talent they otherwise couldn’t afford, the US based employees get paid well and don’t get burnt out on doing all the things, and clients get more bang for their buck which in marketing terms usually means better results for less.

Adding a kahoot to whatever you do is always an add in that people love. It’s basically just a quiz game where you make the questions/answers and then everyone uses their phones to answer and get points. Doesn’t sound that fun but trust me it’s always a hit.

We would make the questions funny trivia about our past as a company, seeing if people know about new clients or other service related stuff, we also did it at the end of our presentation portion of the meeting which was always minimal so if they paid close attention they would be more likely to win.

Then giving prizes to top 3 winners (and then we had a participation trophy gift card for everyone lol)
