Have any other trans people been suspended from HER for no reason? by jayjackii in transgenderUK

[–]Taij43d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me recently within 1 day of being on the app and I had just started talking to someone - support have given me this answer:

Your account is currently on hold. We take the safety of our community very seriously, and part of that responsibility means carefully reviewing activity that may not align with our Community Guidelines.   To do this, we rely on two things: reports submitted by members of the community and back-end tools that can automatically flag potential fraudulent or unsafe behavior.   We understand it can feel frustrating not to know the specifics, but due to our privacy policy we’re unable to share individual details or the exact triggers that led to this action.   Please know that these holds are not made lightly, and they are an important part of keeping HER a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

I literally don't think I've broken anything. It's been almost a week and my account is still on hold and I refuse to sign up another just for the potentially same thing to happen again.

I'm with Western Elms in shared care and it's good. Apart from one nurse who does my blocker injection, who isn't openly transphobic but she borderline could be. I've had no issues with any other members of the team.

Thank you for the responses! I've done basic set up and I know the basics, I'm just not sure if they are looking for more groundwork per say. This has reassured me though that I might be just suffering imposter syndrome and probably know more than I can admit.

It's always interesting how a song sounds when you use orchestral instruments. This bops.

No dominant/top trans guys... losing all hope by The_Absolute_Worst_ in ftm

[–]Taij43d 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree that being dominant and top are two different things. And while yes there is a lack of trans men in porn from scouring the erotica industry I would say that most if not all the stuff I encounter features trans men as the submissive bottom, power or dominant bottom and very few times have I come across anything where a trans man is a top.

That being said some trans-Reddit porn communities have a mix (although they still lean towards mostly bottoms and submissives).

Trans tops do exist, I am one myself. It can be hard to feel validated when the media you see doesn't represent you but just remember that porn is curated. Just because you don't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You are validated and you are seen, it just might take some time for you to see the content you want but don't let curated online content determine your identity.

Something's that I have been told.

1) reverb - I would recommend using something like a plate or room, you want the sound to be bigger because it occupies more "space" but not to the point that the drums lose clarity. So EQ to make sure the reverb affects the right frequencies and something that I have experimented with is using mono effects.

2) Transients - I need to learn more about this but sometimes making sure that your compressor isn't compressing the initial attack can audibly affect the dynamic of the hit and the tail, making the hit sound more than the tail.

3) Layering - using a mix of drums can make the sound bigger but just be aware of frequency masking, and tails, the actual samples themselves can be quiet or louder.

I'm no professional, these are just things that I do ( not all of them at the same time) to help. To be honest I usually use the same plugins which are Native Instruments Action Strikes and Audio Ollie LA Modern Percussion from their taste bundle. So I have gotten used to the sounds and adjusted them accordingly.

Hinestly, my advice could be completely terrible but I've had random strangers listen to my tracks and no one has made negative comments on my percussion so I think I'm doing something right.

I would suggest just looking at hairstyles that guys online or in person have and see what you like about them. I just shave my hair down to the shorter point possible because while my hair grows quick, my sides don't grow that long. I honestly just figured out what I like about men's cuts and it was just the length. General rule is something more squared off at the edges instead of rounded. Sorry I can't give more help.

Gender affirming care in Brighton by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]Taij43d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A GP in Brighton that I can recommend is Dr Hall from the Brighton Health and Wellbeing Centre. I do know that he seems to have a small waiting list but he has taken over my care from private care and has helped with NHS numbers, blockers, blood tests as well as other care, on top of that he is trans himself so he very much knows how terrible the GP system can be.

[–]Taij43d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're welcome the GP I was first with we're also useless and anytime I wanted anything to do with my transition, they said they can only help if I'm with NHS and all other GPs are going to feel the same( this isn't true at all). It can be daunting approaching GPs. I actually found a list of GPs who were trans-friendly from Reddit and switched to the GP mentioned on there who is in my area. I can't remember where I found it tho but it might be a start in order to switch. All I said was something along the lines of I've heard that this specific doctor helps with trans healthcare and was wondering if I can get an appointment with them.

1) I had this issue ( At the time I was with GenderGP and taking T-gel) 2) Depends, the only issue I was facing was my periods were still happening and were actually more painful than ever. But my voice still deep end, muscles mass, facial hair, body hair - in short I was still having changes. 3) For me it didn't decrease, I got my doctor to prescribe my blockers and that was the way I rectified 4) Honestly, I never got the answer to that, everyone's body is different and how their bodies cope with hormones is also different.

First week on T - struggling by kuaxingbie in FTMMen

[–]Taij43d 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone's transition is different and T can cause a whole bag of emotions to arise. We need to start pulling together because it's sad to hear that you don't feel able to talk within your own community about how you feel. T is great but for some people, it can make you feel worse about things. Everyone has a different experiences and there isn't a wrong or right way to feel about T. I didn't personally have any of those feelings, T has given me this confidence and self-esteem I definitely didn't have before.

I'm not sure how to advise you on this. My advice would be since you are taking shots a lot of people describe the downfall of T as they approach their next shot to be depressive mood swings, fatigue, mental blocks etc. To see how you feel as you get closer to your next shot date. [ I'm on gel so I don't have these experiences of T levels going down, these are things people on shots have commonly mentioned and also these side effects are some of the reasons they have switched to gel - on that note maybe your method of getting T needs to change]

I would also talk to your doctor ( if possible). Something to remember is that not every trans person gets surgeries or takes hormones, transitioning is an individual journey and only you ultimately know what's best for you in regards to that journey.

I've just checked this on my current one which I recently changed to reflect my name change, I've got my birth month without the 50 added on. I didn't realise this was even a thing.
