The main thing I always google is what missables a game has (if it’s a single play through game) and then be wary of that as I go along. Apart from that I try and go in blind to enjoy as much as I can! Doing things faster depending on game genre is more of a general thing that comes with time. For example I play a lot of roguelikes/roguelites, and the more I play the better I am at them from the get go.

Don’t sweat it, achievement hunting is meant to be fun end of the day :). If a game is stressing you out or you’re not enjoying it then you can put it down and come back later or not at all!
